Letter to Councilor Reynolt

written in a large, blocky, but otherwise neat script on parchment sealed with the imprint of the symbol of Grumbar in the wax.

Councilor,

I have heard from more than one person in this city that you are opposed to the false creation of life as seen in the undead. After death the body is returned to dust whether by immolation and creation of ash or by internment in Earth and Stone, and the use of such bodies is thievery from what is the domain of Grumbar, the Eternal Lord of Earth and Stone. I oppose the art of necromancy in this manner, and all those that practice such should be treated as thieves of something precious and eternal. It is unfortunate that a closer eye can not be placed on those who practice such arts, nor punishments enacted on them and upon those who follow Gods that may undermine the foundation of this city.

May you walk safely within the Earth, Initiate Granard Rube of the Hold

Initiate Rube,

It is unfortunate, but hopefully not for long.

I am in the process of proposing a law that shall outlaw animation of the dead, with punishments up to and including execution depending on the severity of the crime. It is my belief that a harsh punishment should be given in these instances, though I allow the possibility of a lesser sentence in cases of remorse or ignorance on behalf of the guilty.

I will need the public's support in this, and while I feel many despise Necromancy, many don't even know this law is up for proposal.

If you wish to be of aid you could gain support from the public for the passing of this law should I be too busy to do so myself.

Sincerely,

Councilor Reynolt
