When an evil death avatar is summoned by a priest with the Death domain, it affects anyone in party. I think it should only affect the respective user. Cause, well, what's the others supposed to do about me summoning? Fix pls.
Evil Knivel
As in it counts towards the one summon per player for everyone in the party? Thereby unsummoning or preventing other PCs from summoning?
As in evil alignment points.
This works for everything that gives automated good/evil points.
I don't think there is anything else in the module that does that, though.
lovethesuit As in evil alignment points.
Finally a way to get those dirty paladins.
*Summons death avatar* *Paladin gets evil points* *Paladin falls*
WIN!
Calm down with the hating, man. Smoke bud, not people.
I was under the impression that scripted alignment changes wasn't in use on EfU?
This is the exception that proves the rule. I don't like it, personally!
Keep it there! I liked the dark feeling in my soul.
Point remains that you can willingly screw with people who are reliant on having certain alignments, namely paladins, clerics, druids (...) which crosses the border of grief playing if you summon that thing for no other use than to piss off someone else by giving them spell failure or making them lose their class.
But more to the point, how does it make sense that everyone who is maybe already a few zones away but mechanically in my party is affected by the shift, while those directly around me, but not mechanically in my party, remain unaffected?
People, please read my post more carefully. I'm not opposed to the alignment shift itself, but to the fact that it affects everyone currently in my party.
Of course, if you want to take it a step further, I'm with Snoteye and rather against any kind of scripted ALI-changes.
There should be a warning somewhere at least, for unaware players like me. I only kind of OOC summoned it and immediately dismissed it, just to see what I would actually get, since my character is not yet ready to cross this line.
I imagine someone had a reason for adding this originally, but I don't like it myself.
for players who are clerics of death gods, such as the neutral Urogolan of the halfling pantheon, this should not create an evil shift.
The creature summoned is a black hound and is not some undead creature or other evil beast.
I hope this doesn't apply to them. OR am I entirely misunderstanding this issue....?
The Spirit of the Black Hound never gives alignment shifts, Dj. It just looks sexy.
The issue is that evil gods with death domain cause evil alignment shift to people who are in he party, when death avatar is summoned, and have nothing to do with the avatar in question.
Change please.
I've commented this out. The other DMs can slap me silly if that was a bad decision.
Thank you Thomas, that's exactly what I meant. It makes no sense to give a shift to the entire party.
