*held at Last Stand Inn.*
Citizens,
Elections once again draw close and it is time to decide whom you cast your vote to. I have served many terms, but this is my first as the Chairman of the Council. I was deeply honoured that the good sheriff has trusted me with this important task, and I intend not to let him down.
I have heard some criticism of my ability to judge, and I would like to put this ugly rumour to rest. My sentence was purely based on facts of the case and will continue to do so. Justice however is not revenge, that some have forgotten. I do not judge based on feeling, but the facts of the situation and the case presented to me. I continue to judge righteously based on facts presented to me, and nothing less. There is no trouble between myself and the Sheriff. We both share mutual respect, and we both serve the town the best we can.
Past term was fairly good one by what council has accomplished, and many laws and improvements got made. Many of them benefited the common man and the merchants especially. No longer does anyone need to fear of unclear conspiracy law that was removed from roaster, and trading outside the Sanctuary borders has been made easier too. We also established a shelter for sick and needy, and allowed Spellguard to boost our town's defences.
One of the challenges ahead is still to try to find common and lasting solutions. Sanctuary should not fight against itself, and while we must stay strong against the criminal elements, we should not brand any group or people outright as second class citizens. Only trying to work together will we be able to keep this town safe from the forces that threaten us.
There is much work to be done, I wish to remain the voice of common sense and stability in order to help the Sanctuary to grow. Together we will be strong.
*The election was followed by large crowd, and after speech ended the event turned into lively and heated debate.*
