Volume IV of Celeste Macasta's Comprehensive Diary

The Fourth Volume of the Diary sits upon the shelf, next to the first three. This one begins on Kythorn 4th, 1371, and continues til the present, being nearly three quarters of the way full.

The first volume appears to begin on Flamerule 20th, 1364. Volumes I-III contain thousands of juicy secrets, gossip and self confessions. Not to mention a few details about girlish crushes. Marpenoth 19th, 1374

Dear Diary,

I really wish Daddy would take me more seriously. Everytime we talk, he treats me like a little girl, still, and refuses to acknowledge that I could even possibly aid his business. Today I told him I had thought about running for Council, and he nearly laughed at me! He does this all the time! He said instead that we would be supporting Jacelyn Cheval. As if he could possibly be as stylish as I am.

I met with a man today named Andrew Deepingdale, who wanted our support, in his Council run. He had a charming little sidekick, named Sig, who made the best jokes. Too bad daddy already picked our candidate. Oh well.

Khrog and I killed some rats today, and I proved that I could make my -own- money if I had to! Daddy didn't believe him, though. After I talked to him about Cheval, he told me he wanted to speak with Khrog alone. I listened at the door, and heard him tell him that I needed to be "protected" from politics, and business. Who does he think he is, trying to tell me what to do!

I did get him to give me a chance to prove myself, with the Siren. I don't think he believes I will do anything at all with it. Well, I'll prove him wrong! I'll turn it into the most fabulous, popular place in Town!

P.S. Adrian needs a treat. He got me out of having to wear that awful pink mumu daddy bought me.

Dear Diary,

Today, daddy agreed to let me try my business skills by offering Harrison a shop! I was so excited, but then it went all wrong. He was a dirty, gross, mean old man. He just started insulting me and then he actually choked me! After I got out of that horrid, horrid place, though, his apprentice came to the estate to see me! We worked out a deal, and now -he's- going to have a shop, and I like that a whole lot better.

I spoke a lot with Maia today. She told me that I would be more respected if I spoke less, and with more importance. "Your voice is so sweet in this place, that you should make others long to hear it, not tire of it" is what she said. I think she's right.

We got a new Guard today. Stuart really took a liking to him.

Well, that's all for now. Things are getting really busy lately. Sorry for the briefness!

Dear Diary,

Today, Khrog was being really unreasonable. But, I think we talked it out.

I talked to Agent Opalshore about how to be feared by my enemies, and he gave me lots of really good advice. Between he and Maia, I think someday I might actually be respected.

He told me that one should know what their enemies weakness is, and cripple them, like he did with a powerful mage and his hubris. Second, that it's important to find what a man loves, and make it yours, so he loses his mind. And third, that people always think you're worse than you really are, so that you don't actually have to be as bad as they think you are. Good advice, I think!

I'll have to try it.
