I apologise for the lateness of my reply, but urgent business of the highest magnitude delayed me, and by some cruel plot, Beshaba's hand took your letter from me, until it appeared half a day ago in the hands of a servant! Rest assured, I have seen to it that the clerk who delivers my letters, was assigned to more fitting duties as a result, and a more competent man placed in his stead.

My office has severe assassination countermeasures that it is almost unseemly, for which I will apologise for in advance, yet should you still wish to come, you will be most welcome.
