[letter for Ingrid Mordis left at the Grotto]

Lady Mordis,

I am sorry for the delay in getting word back to you. I hope you are still alive.

Since the Canal district seems to be a flurry of activity, I can foresee ships coming and going. I know of your interest in this area, and would like to see about getting you to work with the Lavenza Family directly to help with trade there.

Please send word to me, so that I know you are still alive, and I will make sure that you get a meeting with Lady Lavenza to join her merchant group.

At your service, Captain Zebulon Smythe

Dear Captain Smythe,

I most certainly am alive, and doing as well as I can under the circumstances.

I do not enter into contracts unless I am prepared to fulfill them, and until I am released from parole can offer nothing outside the city gates. Lady Lavenza has my letter of introduction and she is free to answer it at her convenience.

If the Lady would entertain a social guest I would be glad to oblige, but at the moment I am not prepared to do business.

Sincerely,

Mme. Ingrid Mordis The Grotto, Lavenza Estate
