[A small brown book attached to the belt of it's owner; the keeper's tiny handwriting spills over several pages-not because of the author's writing, but because of sheer size of the miniscule tome.]
I'm quite surprised to have ended up down here, but I must say... what an excellent turn of events! That shady thug told me he was going to guide me to my greatest desire... ha!
It is truly ritcheous that I got what he intended to deny me of! He handed me a slowly breaking, breathing city with more oppurtunities than Ostolin's Hold!
It was so simple to find the ways of each section of the city; the nearly lawless side, rightly dubbed "Lower" is blamed for being a bleak spot by their neighbors, a metropolis filled with citizens who're reportedly snobs.
Both of the cities are wonderful for shaping, but Lower, like all the slums of civilizations, are perfect for creating a world to my liking!
I think I'm going to have some fun in this place-but I need to do some research. Perhaps another look at that Machine everyone talks about so much.

I cannot believe this. That insolent, corrupt whelp has fined me for protecting *her* order's part of the city with my magic, just because of not utilizing some plant?! It's absolutley ridiculous, and it was truly uncalled for, as no "magic-eaters" appeared when I made use of the arcane arts.
But I must not be angered about this; I cannot do much about it, and my loss was small and forgettable. I've purchased a bit of that plant, "Abjurer's Nightshade" so I do not have such irritating run-ins with the Spellguard.
Further to my annoyance, I was rejected to help on a mission to assist the city because I had an "aura" that was "crimson laden." This is not so much insulting as it is absurd.
Not being able to aid this shattered city because of some coloured air? Unbelievable.
At the very least, I was able to take a second visit into the Machine. It is fantastic that I was able to gain more knowledge from a trip that didn't last as long, along with the fact that I didn't cover as much ground.
I've discovered that the guardian golems of the Machine (christened 'animatrons' by the Sanctuary folk) are hostile to these strange rat-men that dwell within the Machine.
These rat-men hybrids seem to be related to Lycanthropes, but I have yet to see one of them change into their full animal form (rat or something else?) and their true form (humanoid or otherwise).
A third delve shall be organized... with more precautions, such as more Dissapearance incantations and a surplus of healing supplies.
I hope that machinist contacts me soon; it would be a true step in reaching my goals.
