Cleric's should be able to use the favored weapon of their deity right? I am playing a cleric of Helm and he can't use a bastard sword. I selected the deity in the character creation as apposed to clicking on that stone hand in the initial area. Should work right?
Thanks,

Sorry, i'm not sure what Not if 3.0 DnD. means, do you mean "not in 3rd edition D & D rules? cause in NWN I thought I read that, and I know i've seen clerics in EFU using swords which would indicate some reason that they can use them.
Thanks,

Unfortunately, NWN does not support Clerics having a proficiency in their deity's favoured weapon. It is also somewhat difficult to script, as the proficiency feats are for groups of weapons rather than a single one. In the cases where you've seen other Clerics using swords and weapons outside of their normal scope, it's likely that they've just taken Martial or Exotic Weapon proficiency.

This is correct. My priest of Kelemvor had to take exotic weapon proficiency to wield the bastard sword.

Nor does PnP, for what it's worth, unless the cleric has the War domain.
