Stairs... Upwards...

Lights! Men! People! Buildings!

Today we finally walked up the stairs that lead to "Upper" as it was called--such a clean place!. Realm was scared--poor scared, little girl. But I pushed her. Forced her. Made her.

The girl is good for carrying me around, but not much else, so it seems. Too afraid, too shy. At least her never speaking keeps things simple.

So. Upper. Oh, how much I cackled in glee. Lower is full of the desperate and the hopeless. But Upper? Oh, there seems to be real people up there--balanced, stable, normal...

It's too easy to fool a beggar or a thug. The real fun is with those who think they have a grasp of things--their world, their reality, themselves...

Ooooh. The fun I will reap!

I don't like it. Upper. Any place beyond the alleyways of Lower that I'm used to. It's just easier to stay in Lower, doing the same thing as the other beggars and those street kids running around.

But... Molly makes me go. Molly wants to explore. Molly wants to see and quest and adventure with others.

And I have to listen to Molly.

At least Molly takes care of me. Well, as much as possibly as Molly can. Molly told me where to go to make money, where to spend it. Molly made me buy this tunic which really reveals a lot more than I'm comfortable with, but Molly says it's useful to fool other people.

And, well, Molly does buy me food and drink. And when I do get hurt, Molly makes sure to buy me herbs or healing potions and such.

Molly isn't so bad I guess.

I cannot believe the fools that populate this city! I cannot believe I wasted my time with that inanely nihilistic... woman?--I don't even know her name! Ha!

"Oh, it is fallacious."

What the Hells was she trying to argue!?

But... I must wonder whether she is altruistic and genuine in her thoughts and arguments or if she is another...

Oh! The intrigue! Oh, yes! I have missed this! To be surrounded by thinking, feeling minds! Minds which are cruel and treacherous!

Nyahahaha!

Molly may not like her. But I do.

I may not know what she's talking about, but I think she's nice. And friendly. And even though I think she grew up in Lower like me, she's pretty.

I hope Molly and her don't get into fights often.

I think I may be getting the hang of this "questing" thing. Molly and I went with a few other people to look into a camp of goblins. Molly had a lot of fun. She enjoys the fighting and the magic flinging and such.

Me? I'm just happy to survive. I used my sling to throw a couple of rocks at a few goblins, but it was pretty much Molly doing all the work, helping out the others in our group by summoning mephits and letting out empowering warcries and scaring the goblins away with her funny noises.

Maybe after a bit more I'll get used to it all.

Ugh! Paladins!

Such irritating whelps, denying Realm and I adventure, excitement, and glory because of some frightening shades of pink they see!

Pfuh! Does that little iron-platted halfling paladin imply that I am evil? Preposterous! I am an entity that has existed for eternity! My actions stretch far into the past into situations and events where such a piddly little mortal like him could not even conceive nor understand the true nature of my actions!

Bah! The inanity of oaths and promises; of metaphorical shackles and cages. Those who are contained within such are boring and plebians anyhow! Unworthy of our company!

We shall not be stopped by mere self-righteous arbitrary judges of "good" and "evil" who are scared and confused by our presence!

Why is it that everybody I like and think is nice Molly has to hate?

Hmm...! This Rhade. So hesitant and slow to merely speak of his lord Cyric but so sure of himself! Pathetic, almost. But... He may be useful.

If goaded enough, he does act, and he does eventually make the impetus of his actions known.

No doubt the rest of the city would balk at him, however. Yes, he may be useful and helpful. But any contact with him will require subtly.

I don't like Rhade! I hate him! But... Molly... Molly does.

He choked me. I couldn't breath. It was all going dark then he finally let go. But then... He cut into my hand, my free one, the hand Molly isn't held in.

He cut into my wrist a picture of a skull with a circle of spikes around it.

Molly says I'll have to wear gloves from now on.
