Sent to the Watch and the Spellguard ((DM or PC))

Hello.

I was on an job in the underdark with Drin the Halfling, Nathan, a human, a dwarf, and Faenaris, a Paladin of Tyr. We were not doing well, and the halfling Drin was alone, taking the front line. Then he was hit with a dispelling spell. Faenaris looked surprised, and said that Drin's aura had just turned black. After the battle was won, drin muttered some language, I must assume infernal, and summoned up a Hooked Horror. On drins order, the Dwarf, the hook horror, and the Human Nathin descended upon the paladin, killing him quickly. I was able to outrun said hook horror, and make it to the city. I was not sure how to handle this, but as a murder and the infernal were involved, I naturally assumed *Insert name of order here* would be the best choice to handle this.

My thanks for any assistance you can render. -Trence Pyresoul

[the letter is opened by Agent Blake. Her brows rise at the contents, and she pens a quick reply. Frowing at the lack of return address, she sends a copy to the Last Stand and leaves the original with Officer Barkely]

Citizen Pyresoul,

Your statement is appreciated, and appropriate action will be taken. If you could provide more detail of any kind, it will prove most useful. A description of the dwarf would be helpful too.

*the Seal of the Spellguard*

((signed with a flourish)) Agent Blake Order of the Spellguard

Trence Pyresoul,

I find this to be a very odd behavior from Drin, as I have met and talked with him before. Could you please give us the names of the other members of your group, or descriptions of them? Do you know why Drin would have ordered Faenaris' death?

We will take this under investigation.

Corporal Brinson

*to the spellguard* Im afraid I lack further description of the dwarf, except he fought with an axe and wore reddish black armor.

*signed, with address this time*

*to the watch* Im afraid I did not cath this man, nathin's, last name, nor any of the dwarfs. The Paladin was named Faenaris, never gave a last name either, nor was I able to find a Last name for this Drin.

I appoligise for my lack of full detail, but I was running away and not paying too much attention. I assume Drin ordered the Hook horror to kill the paladin as the paladin saw Drins aura after his spell was broke.

Citizen Trence Pyresoul,

Until we have conducted further investigation, Drin is not guilty of anything. Remove the posters that you have placed around the Upper City.

Regards, CPL. Swift

*sent back to the watch*

The posters are not mine. Id rather just get this mess behind me, not spread it further. I came in the town rather flustered, doubtless some over zealous Hoarian did it.

Citizen Trence Pyresoul,

Don't waste my time. The posters are blatantly yours. They are an exact copy, verbatim, of the letter you sent to us, with a short addendum.

Take them down.

Regards, CPL. Swift

I spread my story more then once, to all my bretherin of the priesthood. I can assure you, the posters are not mine. I want this damnable mess behind me. I will immidatly contact the church and see if anyone on my else is posting them, although I cannot immagine why they would. Otherwise someone on your end is intercepting and spreading my message.

Its not my fault that this information is considered shocking to some people. Ill contact you If i find the curch is responsible.

Citizen Trence Pyresoul,

Do you take me for an utter buffoon? I do not appreciate my intelligence being insulted. To ensure that you see what I am talking about, here is one of the posters that I have ripped down.

People of Sanctuary.

I was on an job in the Underdark with Drin the Halfling, Nathan, a human, a dwarf, and Faenaris, a Paladin of Tyr. We were not doing well, and the halfling Drin was alone, taking the front line. Then he was hit with a dispelling spell. Faenaris looked surprised, and said that Drin's aura had just turned black as the night itself. After the battle was won, drin muttered some language, I must assume infernal, and summoned a Hooked Horror from the infernal realms to ravage the witnesses. On Drins order, the Dwarf, the hook horror, and the Human Nathin descended upon the paladin, killing him quickly. I was able to outrun said hook horror, and make it to the city. I say not "Safely" to the city because we are not safe. This dread lord Drin walks amoung us, under carefully crafted spell and ruse, Penetrating every aspect of our society.

Be wary, and Be safe.

So, here is a transcribed copy of the letter that you sent us, earlier.

Do you see the damn similarities? Do you honestly think that your lies are acceptable to me? How do you expect us to take your report seriously if you consistently lie to us?

My last warning - take the posters down.

Regards, CPL. Swift

Ive spent the entire past hour writing letters about these posters, How could I write the posteres also? I'm still awaiting a reply from my bretherin in the church, the only others I sent that letter to other then the law. Ive sent them a letter requesting that if any are responsible, they should stop posting them. But you are to know that I am low ranking, and they do not obey my orders absolutely. Ill contact you if or when they do get around to replying, although many seem to sleep during this time of dark.

I do hope we can get this done, whatever the outcome, soon. Im finding my wine consumption is suddenly costing me far more then it should.

Citizen Trence Pyresoul,

I still think you're lying. Give me the names of the other members of your church.

Regards, CPL. Swift

Gladly.

Our church is based in lower, and contains 3 other members then I, although I am the only one who receives spells.

Tenif Smallfoot, a halfling John, A human who lost his last name to the flayers. Vincint Toony, Primarilly a drunkard, tring to quit his habits.

A copy was also sent to a few other clergys immediately after, As i thought I was at risk of assasination and the watch did not come to my request.

I will ask all three to go to upper and find you personally, if that is your wish.
