The following letter is attached to a murky bottle of what appears to be rum diluted with the questionably clean water of the stream that divides Lower.
Humble Watcher,
I would like to extend my gratitude for sending Corporal Parkus Swift into Lower to warn me that a gentleman by the name of 'Captain' Malcer Stormwind has a warrant out for his arrest. It was my assumption that warrants such as this were best kept secret to ensure a greater probability of success in capturing said criminal, and that leaking that sort of information to a passing acquaintance of a man suspected of innumerable heinous crimes (including, I must add, passing the Scholar in the streets on occasion and glancing in his general direction) would be an act of either immense incompetence or a deep-set desire to foil the efforts of the Watch to track down 'criminals,' but you've proven me wrong. I've yet to wrap my frail mind around the hidden wisdom of sending a decorated office to warn 'criminals' that the Watch will soon hound them, but I have faith in the intelligence your efforts. My passing along the good Corporal's warning to the Captain has earned me his gratitude, which I'm happy to add consisted of Cyrus' finest spirits.
On the topic of libations, kindly alert Corporal Smith (while he still retains his hard-earned rank, I hope) that the contraband bottles of drow-manufactured wine he offered me were delicious. Some say that purchasing them only serves to fund slavers, allowing them to cast their nets further on the innocent population of Sanctuary, but it seems that neither Corporal Swift nor I can resist the infectious taste and subtle flavor of the vintage.
Though we may never meet, I invite you to join me in a toast to the memory of James Lysik. May his death spark the riots and gratuitous violence that I'm certain you intended.
Kind regards,
Aurin Guerini
