Deep Worg = Magical Creature Rothe should be animal so not too sure on that.

Yeah... I'm thinking there aren't any real animals in the Underdark. Animals are silly disney things like crag cats. And bears. Of which there is not an abundance, under the ground.

Also: Rats are animals. Vermin are spiders and beetles et al.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that rats, bats, and rothe aren't animals, because they are. Vermin constitutes something like beetles, spiders, ticks, etc. You know, vermin. The issue is that Dominate Animal doesn't have any effect on Animals.

Yes, that is exactly what happened to my park ranger who had FE: Animals. Rothe count as magical beast, not animal. That's why their AE DC is considerably high for their level (2).

If it doesn't work on bats and rats either, which are animals, then the spell is indeed broken though.

Rats are vermin, Tried and tested with the shortsword you get off the spider quest.

Both NWN and EFU Deep Worgs and Deep Rothe are Magical Beasts. Both NWN and EFU Rat blueprints are racial type Animal, though.

Doesn't work on Deep Lizards either. Neither Hold Animal nor Dominate Animal. What exactly are these spells good for?

You haven't answered my question; someone else has tested the Charm/Hold/Dominate Animal spells on Bats and succeded.
