A letter to Councilor Crowshire

[Marked on the base of this envelope, reads "For Chairman eyes only". The letter is scrawled in a fine graft, and has a red wax seal promptly in place]

Dearest Wyric, How are you doing todark? I do hope you are quite fine. I know you are a busy man, so I will skip directly to the point. I have a proposal for you, and in getting what I request achieved- I may gain rank to the Spellguard.

I was assigned to argue to you, that the ban of association with the monstrous races of the Underdark, is a clear violation of a right of freedom. In thinking of this matter, I quite agree… It can benefit the Sanctuary greatly, to have this law lifted, or moderated, in some manner. If you were not born the charming human male, that you are today, and were born as a free Duegar, with no intention on harm- would you find it fair that the city will not speak with you, on that very principle?

I think, we can find the trade of the monstrous races of the Underdark, if monitered- very beneficial to the entirety of our great city. In lifting this ban, a profit may be turned- Consider a new tax, an importing fine, a means of generating funds, that can pay our hard working defenders? Consider a pact, with them, that they must pay 10% or so, of profit earned?

These may not be practical in your eyes, but I can see a great boost in our city, if we can drop the racism on non hostile creatures?

[Signed with a flourish] -Your dear friend --Monica

PS: I wish to speak with you soon on this, Wyric.

Milady,

Our current policies can be read in the note that I have added to this letter.

The council is not prepared to remove all the races listed in The Enemies of Sanctuary Act. The list currently composes of four races (Goblins, Kobolds, Drow and Duergar), and I have no intention of dropping enemies like foul drow from it. I think there might be room for some modification in the list, but it depends what council votes on.

I fear I have to get back on you at this matter.

Respectfully, Chairman Wyric Crowshire
