Salutations and greetings,
My name is Fulcrum Harnad and i write this missive to you in the hopes that our fair city's leaders will see the many benefits, and needs for a public forge and crafting guild here in the city.
For over 225 years the Harnad family of luskan have crafted and, and toiled over anvil and forge for the better of society and the common good of the city. I write to you today to try and explain the many ways a crafting guild and forge would aid the city.
1.) No more will new arrivals have to venture to lower to face brigands in order to buy heavy armor.
2.) The crafting guild can act as a branch of the office of engineering, aiding in the dubious task of helping with construction,crafting, and smithing work.
3.) The crafting guild could work diligently (with a forge) to better equip our watchman aswell as create a back-load of stored militia weapons in case of crisis.
4.) The crafting guild can offer daily class's to children of age in the orphanage so as after released may take up a trade instead of facing the alternative of being lured into a gang or becoming a petty thug.
5.) The crafting guild could also work alongside the council, spellguard, and watch in creating new and wonderous contraptions to aid the city in it's everyday tasks. Aswell as create many things to aid in exploration and mining activities.
6.) Being owned by the city inventions and technology can be archived and stored as to never be lost or horded by organizations not willing to share the knowledge.
7.) The crafting guild can work hand in hand with the watch and school of war in creating and maintaining the current siege equipment in the city. Time waits for no man or woman, As we strive to learn so does our enemies. Not only is a crafting guild and public forge needed it will be essential if we want to remain a forefront in technology above our enemies and neighbors alike. I would eagerly like to meet with the entire council and explain the many other uses the guild will have aswell as some ideas for inventions that will aid our city.
