I know as well as anyone there are a lot of good causes needing coin in Sanctuary, but before you go dropping all your coin into the orphanage coffers, think for a moment about the greater good. Think what would happen -- yes, even to the orphans -- were our enemies to find a single flaw in Sanctuary's defenses. We know the strength of our walls, and the willingness of the Watch to act in our city's best interest. We know that the Spellguard's animatrons stand ready to defend. But the thing that goes unnoticed and unthought about every day is our city's communication. Without it, what would our defenses be? An intelligent enemy could attack the city from multiple points of entry. Without a means of coordinating our defensive forces, all would be lost.

Therefore, I urge you to consider the good that might come of a duplicate sending system, and to consider donating some of your valuable time and, more importantly coin, to the Spellguard's effort to maintain and duplicate the sending system in Town Hall.

Muscle. The project will likely require resources from within the Machine itself, and that means the occasional dangerous expedition.

Coin. A project of this magnitude requires public funding. The resources of the Spellguard are stretched thin enough maintaining the animatrons and wards that currently defend our city. Parts acquisition costs and transmutation research might exceed 10,000 gold, so every donation helps, no matter the size.
