Area of affect spells and damaging your friends

Question, do area of affect spells, like fireball or burning hands, etc. damage your fellow party members? Assuming you are in the same party and are friendly to each other.

Thanks,

The last time I checked, yeah, they did.

They also hurt you if you aim well enough. Same goes for traps...>_>

They do unless description states otherwise.

The only spells that don't are spells that say "Enemies wiithin the area" Or "hostile creatures within the area" Or something similar.

Most spells will say "Creatures within" or alone those lines. The latter will always damage party members.

Server wouldn't be as much fun if party members are immune to friendly AoE spells =P

thanks, and I agree, makes more sense if it does affect your party mates. Just wondering.

Now you can also consider why you get this message with 'you have entered a full PvP area'.

No PvP: Players cannot harm each other. Party PvP: Players can only harm players that are not in their party. Full PvP: Players can harm every other player, even when in a party.

In this case, harm also, for instance, means the radius of a fireball spell.

But you can practice with your fireballs to know where to cast them without blasting your friends.

Oups, sorry folks.

I once played slightly intoxicated at 3 am in the morning. I fireballed my own party who were gathered in a small area, instead of the boss and her minions...

I did get them on the second try however.

But then I did it again on the next quest :s

Important Safety Tip: The spellcaster goes at the FRONT of the party, facing away from all other members.

Just hope that you don't get flanked.

Lol. I have blasted my poor Associates with a fireball or two.

Lol. Playing drunk is never good.

Your party members tend to complain when you knock-down them.

Words to live by.
