The following is a log of the first class hosted in the School of War. As i was not able to attend, Lyra Lockheart was kind enough to take notes.

Eleint 28th, Year 152 Class 1 - Basic Sword Combat

The Lessons Taught...
--A Strong Stance - the stance is the base the style is built upon. I taught them a simple strong stance. Sword-hand foot foward, about two waist lengths apart from the back foot, and two waist lengths wide apart. A steady stance, still easy to move from foot to foot.
--Vertical Strike - step foward, raise sword above head and strike down with the step for maximum force.
--Horizontal Strike - Stroke the sword from left to right whilst stepping forward.
--Thrust - a stabbing moment, step into the thrust for maximum strength. Twist wrist for extra effect.
--Gaurd - step back and deflect the blow. Knowing the three basic strikes allows you estimate an effective way to gaurd off the attack.
--This stance can be used with no weapons, sword, sword and shield, two sword and various other one-handed weapon.
