So I spoke with a DM a while ago, not really by choice but I'll spare the details, about a device to make arresting people easier and cheaper for the criminal ; "Whatever could you mean?" I hear you cry, well my PCs seem to get arrested alot and well I'm sick of having to use my supplies to heal up after 'questioning', and by 'questioning' I mean having the bejebus knocked out of my character by whoever he's insulted this time - and then put in jail.

The point I'm trying to make is that I've seen characters other than my own take more damage and trouble than they've caused, potions aren't cheap and I've only had one character healed by the law, even then it's only because I moped about it. So instead of the "He's pickin' his nose gettim'! *beat beat beat*" attitude, it could be more of flesh-to-stone thing, regular paralysus, stun... blindness, anything! Just stop picking on my PCs! And if you do feel that your 'Lawful Good' character has to start beating the hell out of some lowbie for throwing the odd insult around, at least heal them when you come for that one-on-one chat in the holding cells.

It's a suggestion not a rant. :cry:

If my lawful good character isn't a spellcaster, I'm not going to bother with finding an alternative to physical attacks. I also wouldn't care to waste my own supplies on low-life criminals. >.>

Not all those law enforcers are lawful good, either. :wink:

Seriously, the answer is if you cant do the time, dont do the crime! Being able to beat the bejebus of whoever insults us is one of the only good things about enforcing the law. You cant take that away!

This isn't really a suggestion. If it's IC to let a criminal go, bruised and bloody, after beating the crap out of him, then go with that. I'd imagine an LG law enforcer -would- heal after an arrest, but there are law enforcers of most alignments. Do whatever's IC! It's not hard to get gold or healing supplies.

You could always jump ahead, and have you character throw up his hands and lay down. "don't hit me don't hit me, grumble" Then submit to an arrest. >_>

Otherwise, expect expensive healing.

This is pretty much just IC stuff anyone can easily work out in game that I don't feel will be influenced OOC'ly by this thread.

Deal with this request in game. Be it through slander, posters, whatever. This is not a suggestion!
