Simple question from a newbee

My first time role-playing online and finding the server to be a perfect place to get the feet wet. Applause for an amazing and very welcoming community. Had a grand time in a short DM-run quest the other day and finding Sanctuary an endlessly intriguing site.

A small question: Is it possible to change a character's background text (the material that is displayed when one looks at a character) after character creation? I erased the generic text at start of my first character and left it blank, but now feel a little more comfortable with the texture of the world and would like to put something in place.

If not, no worries, as I look forward to starting a new character in one of the next preludes. Many thanks to all for a great environment online.

It can be done, by DMs, if they take your character file from the server vault, and rewrite it using a third-party file editing application. However, that can't be made available for everyone, for obvious time-allocation issues. In any case - that's your best bet. As far as I know, it cannot be done from the player's side - so asking a DM is your best bet. (Though, if, as you say, it's just your getting-to-know the server character, you might just want to let it drop).

Putting a physical description of the character in that field is largely preferred, in the general opinion, to filling it with the character's background story.

Hope this helps.
