Malik Blackhand

I missed my chance with Malik. Saw him murder Tristan, tear his heart out, sacrifice it to Shar. I couldn't stop him. I was the only one who tried. For fifteen minutes I fought him in our sacred temple, evenly matched. I ducking his vicious swings, hiding in the shadows, harrying him as best I could even as he bent down and cut the heart from Tristan. But I failed. After the deed Shar was feeding him with untold power, pouring dark energy into him as water into a vessel. No more excuses. I'm sorry, Assuran. Word from the Sergeant is that Malik is dead. I believe it. Found dead in Sewer Town, knife in the gut, huddled in his own blood and piss. I nearly had him many times. Instead someone else got to him. A fitting end for my incompetence. Case closed.

Addendum: Tristan's dying words; he wishes to be remembered as the one who heroically submitted to the Sharran's twisted justice in order to save his friends. I suppose writing it here in the margin will do.

Mandarin Dreagle

A prominent councilman candidate who mysteriously disappeared, before I arrived in Sanctuary more than a week ago. Back home and many years ago in Chessenta I would have been lucky to have received a case like this. Hell, it would've been snapped up by someone more experienced. They never let me do anything important. Back then all I was left with was something like finding a man who stole bread to feed his starving family, then probably tying him up and stuffing the whole loaf of bread down his throat to see if he chokes. Amusing in itself, but nothing like this. Here nobody cares about justice as we do, Assuran; that's why nobody has taken the case and I got it.
