I'd suggest that with the changes to Darkness/ultravision, Ultravision now gives a minor bonus to Spot and Search, plus three or so.
Ultravision change
It could give a bonus to AB in "dark" or all areas since your able to see with the clearest of vision.
Why? Purple vision that allows you to see almost better than if you had a light spell on you, but does not actually shed light is very much worthy of a second level spell. Slapping attack and skill bonuses on it is like eating a delicious salad and deciding to put a large cake on top of it to add flavor.
Simple solution, make ultravision 24 hours per use. It's perfect vision for stealthy folk, some cheaper potions of it somewhere like say for example the shrine of Ibrandul might help too.
Secutor eating a delicious salad and deciding to put a large cake on top of it to add flavor.
... holy bajeezus, i've got to try that.
Ultravision should provide a minor bonus to spot, search, and a slight save against illusion magic.
I knew of the benefits of Ultravision, when it came to Darkness, but when the fact of the matter came down to it...I cast it just to see. Somehow that seems to be not enough?!
The benefits of Ultravision as it stands is enough, in my opinion. If some sort of change -had- to be implemented...maybe a +1 Spot. Max.
It's fine as it is. Use it, stumble around blindly, or use a light spell and attract all kinds of unwanted attention.
Or play a gnome for dark vision >.>
