Ordinant,
I am currently in the midst of planning an archealogical excursion into the Sand Caverns. As aberrant activity there is incredibly high, I am under the impression you have mapped the area quite extensively.
If this is the case, I ask that you forward to me a comprehensive list of all the information the Society of the Ordered Mind have gathered on the area, so that I may properly plan this expedition.
Respectfully,
Councilor William Donrick

Councilor Donrick,
Hello again. We do have many maps on the Sand Caverns, but I am afraid that some of them are not up to date, but they might still be useful. Anyway, I have added them below and I will be completing newer maps of the area soon.
Secondly, please tell us why and where exactly are you planning to go to and what exactly are you looking for in this archaeological expedition? I also suggest that you bring us along, digging or exploring in the Sand Caverns is not a walk in the park and you will likely meet aberrations.
Please meet us in person to discuss this in detail.

Ordinant Mirabella Merribuck
Maps of the Sand Caverns
Sandy Caves
Formian country, come in swarms. Best beware here and tread lightly.
1- stairs down cliffside from the lower windy cavern caves.
2- to sandy passage
3- Formian ambush spot
4- Large humanoid head sculpture
5- Path down cliffside, likely to Formian Hive.Left Passage (east), Sandy Caves. To Chabzash
1-to the Sandy cave
2-Stone tablet, engraved with an eye.
3-cave, entrance blocked by rock and rubble
4-great pit, likely the beholder's lair
5-impaled body in a cage
6-stairs up to mouth of a cave
7-likely a temple
The beholder's nest. Seems they and the Illithid are close enough to clash regularly.
Sandy Passage
Signs of civilization, parallel rocks placed on the sides of the passage. Tread lightly as entering Illithid territory.
1-from the sandy caves
2-passage, with parallel rocks
3-passage leading to city, not visualized but reported to be Illithid. Likely due to what we've seen.
Sandy Caverns - West - Recently Mapped by Ordinant Szul
Yellow = Sandy floor
Brown = Rocky path
Gray = Unknown chasm depths
Design based on Sorrell Greyn's original map and my own field observations.
1. - Sandy Tunnel to Western Gate of Ysinode - (full of spiders and small floating eyeballs).
2. - Abandoned Camp - (relatively safe here).
3. - Obelisk flanked by two arcane markings on the ground -(Nyths encountered here - I could travel no farther here for the Nyths sighted me and attacked using magical missile strikes)
4. - Sunken Tower (I travelled here once with Reev and Drilacko - the Tower was filled with undead and aberrants of all kinds. It was found to be the lair of an illithid. It was eventually destroyed by the expedition group I was with).
4a. - North-West One-Way Portal ? - (marked on Sorrell's map - I found nothing but red-rock building remnants in the wall).
5. - Path up through the mouth of a Tower-base.
6. - Floating Orb - a sphere, it appeared similar to the shapes seen in Dunwarren.
7. - Purple Crystal ? - (unseen - copied from Sorrell's map).
8. - Blocked Stair ? - (unseen - copied from Sorrell's map).
9. - Uncrossable Chasm ? - (unseen - copied from Sorrell's map).
10. - Unknown Cave ? - (unseen - copied from Sorrell's map).
11. - "Portal from Sanctuary. Portal to Sand Caverns - West - Marked" - (words copied from Sorrell's map - I am unclear what this means).
@. - Spiral and Question Mark - A rising rocky stairway - (I encountered a Mind Dog that first tried desperately to warp my mind and when that failed to knock me off into the chasm. I had no choice but the turn back).
Notes on Ysinode's Gates
According to Sorrell Greyn, this route to Ysinode is far safer than travelling through the Sand Caverns to get to Ysinode. Simply due to the numerous encounters with aberrations in the Sand Caverns. The Sand Caverns -West, and the Badlands provide two ways to approach the 'Western Gate of Ysinode'.

Ordinant Merribuck,
Thank you for your swift reply! These maps will be perfect. However, if they're not totally up to date, please forward me the completed ones, once you've finished them. I will gladly meet with you, and discuss my plans, and a matter involving something entirely unrelated. Please, make a visit to my Office, and we will talk.
Regards,
Councilor William Donrick
