People of Sanctuary, the Seekers have made an important discovery some time ago and now it was decided to share the information so the free people who live here could put in their valuable input in such matters. Consider this but a begining of a series of matters we will share and ask for your opinions on.
This is a transcript from a page of a diary that was found some time ago in the sandy caves.
and end:-we continue through the dephts of the middledark, hoping we may find some clue [illegible]]-city alludes us still (illegible)-corresponds with notes grandfather took (ilegible)-not give up hope that they will be found.- Tomas Bresley, Marpenoth 25 1372.
A thorough search of the relevant history texts has revealed no known linage of Fredrick Bresley in Sanctuary. He never married, and there are no rumours of bastard children maintaining his legacy. On Charles' side of the family, nothing suggests Yorrick Bresley (the last known Bresley) had children. The lack of local possibilities, combined with the mention that it was his grandfather's (not grand-uncle's) notes that were followed, implies that the text was written by a descendent of Fredrick Bresley coming down from the surface. That he is searching for a city, not the surface, further reinforces this theory.
This is the best evidence to date that Fredrick not only made it to the surface, but that he married and had children. Moreover it suggests that his family had not given up the search to find us. The date on the note is just under two years old.Given the contents of this diary would be of limited interest to anyone except a member of Sanctuary, we can suppose it was dropped in the Sandy Caverns or somewhere nearby. Thomas Bresley probably lost his journal there, then.
After thinking all of this through, we have concluded the following:
People of Sanctuary, there still is hope!
Fredrick Bresley, against all odds and naysayers,: found his way to the Surface, raised a family and he did not forget. And we will not forget, either.
If it was done once, it can be done again.
And that is when we call for your help. The Way still lingers, the free sun-kissed lands above just waiting for us to uncover the truth Fredrick Bresley knew to his heart, but only through hard work, only through persistance, hope of the future, and faith in ourselves will we find it. It won't be easy, it will require sacrifice, but will it be worth it? Is true freedom, is the sun, is returning to your loved ones, is being free at last from the grasp of darkness and the evil slaver races worth the struggle? We think it is. And we ask for the help of all who do.
We ask for you who still believe, to seek the way with us. To share your knowledge, your insight, into how we are to find the Way at last. We ask for all who see clues to share them, for all of those who have ideas to share them, for we will welcome them, one and all.
We ask that all who might've found other pieces of said diary to show them to us so they can be properly considered and be rewarded with the bounty of five hundred gold that Seeker Yvone Rhune mentioned or more, depending on the importance and legimitimacy of such pieces.
LET US NEVER FORGET, LET US NEVER GIVE UP!
Ideas ought to be directed to the Shrine of Ascension. The Seekers
