What if you could buy ink and parchment to write your own notes?
Mechanically it would work just like the scribe. On use the scribe conversation opens, you type out what you want, confirm, and then receive the completed note.
The supplies would cost more that using the professional service, eg. 15 gp, to compensate for the added convenience.
Then you could write notes anywhere at anytime without having to walk back to the scribe to have one prepared.
Eg. Left somebody dead or subdued out on the road and want to leave a message with them--scribe a note
Had to leave an area before your party arrived, and you want to do it IC --leave a note
I'm sure others will come up with better situations when this would be useful.

Ahhh, I like this idea. Been there once when we left dead bodies with a note in upper.
Made no sence writing a threat message through a scribe.
This idea, I like.

I actually don't think the scripting would require much. I imagine that the same conversation the Scribe gives could open OnUse of the scribing item. Then everything is identical except rather than losing gold when you get the scribed note, you lose the scribing item.
If you like the idea, say so. It only stands a chance of being implemented if people get behind it.

I like the idea. I was just saying, unless matters have changed since last, I doubt this is high enough priority it warrants the time it takes to implement it. It's not like the current system isn't working fine already (the only real flaw I can spot is that it's not easy for Lowerites to have notes scribed).
