Helmed/Armored races!

I'd actually been thinking about this a while, but was only just recently reminded of it by a posting in lower about helmed drow!

The notice implied that helmed elves may be asked to remove their helms to show they aren't drow. Well, how could you tell who was elf and who was human?

If my character, who is relatively familiar with all the main PC races, spots someone... wearing full armor and a helmet, can he tell the person's race easily?

I mean, if an elf is wearing a helmet, couldn't you just assume that it's a slender human? A half-orc could be just a really big man! Dwarf, gnome, halfling... they're easily told apart, I suppose. But yeah, elf/human is what I'm most concerned about. ; )

((*Thinks people wear helmets too much as it is!*))

If you see a slender smaller than human form in armor, probably an elf, but could be a slender small human male. If you see a half orc in armor, may be bit larger than the average human or may not be. What you see is what you get. If you don't see pointy ears or green skin, you don't know the race behind the armor for certain.

*Sneaks into Upper disguised as a gnome!*

Thanks, Beggar. =)
