Brief Tour

I went on a whirlwind tour of the module with my DM avatar to snap some quick 'n dirty screenshots of just what this module looks like.

Disclaimer: unlike colinpoh, I'm terrible at taking screen-shots. Still, I hope these help give you a better sense of what the module looks like.

Directly outside the main Sanctuary gate, there's a little camp of exiled kobolds. Lord Bunge, the kobold chieftain and sometime shoe eater, will be happy to sell you some of his goods.

The main gate itself has battlements and walls that you can actually go up onto and defend. Invasions (although rare) will be fun.

Of course, if the unthinkable ever happens and they breach the gate -- I'm sure the brave, heroic, competent, numerous, well armed, and nobly led Sanctuary Watch will be there to save the day. With them around, who needs hero PCs! Anyway, here's a shot of the outside of their "citadel."

The NWN toolset is terrible in its great love for broad, spacious avenues instead of narrow, crooked alleys. In most situations, you simply can't cram those buildings close enough! Thankfully, Underdark, Poor is simply awesome. With some finnagling, you can line up buildings so there's an alley that cuts through (broken off with a wall). In EfU, you'll be able to dart down these alleys and perform a quick tumble check to climb or jump over the wall in question to the other side.

Here's a closer shot.

Hm, I wonder what's back here?

Here's a shot of the Upper Sanctuary Bazaare. All kinds of strange goods can be picked up here.

And another.

A typical street area in Upper Sanctuary.

The Hall of the Seekers is an oasis of warmth in a pretty dismal town. Their leader is an exceptional painter and has decorated the place with dozens of paintings drawing from dimly remembered memories of the surface.

The Sanctuary Mausoleum. Funerals are a regular occurence.

Lower Sanctuary is a bit rougher around the edges. Not much Watch down there, just the mercenaries the town has hired to protect it and keep the peace. Here's a shot of the outside of the Tigereye Fortress.

Here's an interior shot of the temple of Ibrandul, Lord of Caverns in Lower Sanctuary.

The Lower Sanctuary Inn, tentatively named "The Pissing Crone," is a nice and cosy place to have something to drink while you're in Lower Sanctuary. Just don't cause any trouble, or the hired minotaur bouncer will bounce you right outside.

Here's another (poorly lit) shot of the Crone. Huge minotaur bouncer? Check. Cheeky one-handed halfling? Check. Eery, nonsensical, twitching svirfneblin? Check. Drunk off-duty mercenary, desperate for a fight? Check. Shadowy corners for you to sit in, glare at newcomers, and live out your Prancing Pony Strider pipe-smoking fantasies? Check. What else could you want?

Here are some lizardfolk in their camp way out in the Underdark. They're looking forward to meeting your characters in person.

Enough said.

Awesome shots. :)

I love the bit how you can jump over walls using tumble, clever.
