Appraisal

Would a person with 0 appraise be able to have an idea on the value of items? I mean, I've come across people whom have no appraise ranks yet they are arguing tooth and nail over the value of an item, or some that wander off saying, "Nah, it's more than that." When I offered a sum that was lower, but the common person with 10 intelligence would think it was a lot or a fair sum.

Thomas, people do know the general price of things. It's the world they live in, after all. You know roughly how much a DVD player is, don't you, and roughly how much a football is to buy. Why force appraise checks on people?

I think it's only when it comes to specialised objects that appraise comes into it in reality, for instance:

The value of things is determined by supply and demand, and I guess that appraise is simply a greater understanding of what there is substantially rarer or more magical than what, or what is unique.
