Should Haste be nerfed a bit?

Haste is commonly available as potion from PC vendors and grants :

One extra attack at full bonus, 4 additional AC, rapid running speed and allows casting spells and drinking other potions to be done at twice the rate.

Haste makes a big difference even at epic levels, and I think for this server's level range it is way too good.

I feel the following changes would make it more balanced (though still useful enough to be often used)

-Grants extra attack but lowers AB by two, same as Rapid Shot or Dualwielding do. -Drinking a different potion after Hasting dispels the Haste, this prevents the tired old Haste/Accuracy potion/Knockdown combo (O I forgot the invisibility first) -Spellfailure rate of 30% or so when casting hasted, because you're tossing magic about at twice the rate its supposed to go,

I use hastes a lot and really like them ; however there are times when it really seems over the top and can break the game. These suggestions (I don't know how difficult scripting them would be) keep it very useful and powerful

IMO, Haste is fine as is. They're not exactly super cheap.

Yes! It's not cheap, and haste makes things more interesting. It can help anyone about equally, if consumed. So I don't see how it's unfair.

It doesn't last very long either, at least in potion form.

100% fine for what they are. They are not super common drops on quests and buying them is quite the expense. If you look at the price compared to buffs that last longer and overall could be more meaningful, you notice that they are great when used properly but nowhere close to overpowered.

Ommadawn It doesn't last very long either, at least in potion form.

Fine the way it is. Lesser dispel wands fix it quite nicely. There are potions even more powerful than haste available too, now those are scale tippers!

You clearly havent seen Tommy Ten irons Gulp Down a Shadowshield p otion and start pwning a hole group of pcs. (yes shadowshield potions do exist.)

It probably is too powerful for 3.0, but I've no real desire to see it changed.

It is fine. Short duration and large expense!
