1000th Topic Spectacular

In this mega-thread, we celebrate the awesome moments of EfU throughout its history! Post anything you like that you think defined an excellent moment in EfU!

I would personally like to give thanks to everyone involved in the Sslal'teesh plot and subsequent mega-quest! It was such an immense and exciting moment for so many people, and the scope of the server was really felt with each encounter. Not just the DMs, but the players like HyperVision and Terry who made it happen; it was a great effort with a great pay-off.

Let us all remember the Tigereyes times!

EDIT:

Lower

I would write something more specific, but I can tie all of my awesome-memories down to this one spot, and that's Lower for me folks.

This place has had an amazing amount of entertaining and interesting plots, both ultra violent rebellion, gangster life and all that aswell as complicated schemes.

I'd like to thank every DM and Player who ever participated in the Lower vs. Upper conflict and brought something interesting to it, no matter which side you were on and how big or small of an impact you made.

This place fits my gaming needs like a work of Ghail.

Keep the conflict alive!

I'd like to thank all my customers, past, present and futur.

Remember Dalman's potions and wands are the finest in town!

Explosions. Of the arena, inn's, etc. Any explosion. Kudos to those behind explosions, which are good.

The Epic Battle of Sewertown, in which Tooth reigned supreme.

Good times.

I loved the Sslal'teesh plot - it was awesome, plus probably one of Ruby's high points with her ship. And also for the illness that broke out and half the distruction of Sanctuary (sadly missed that bit).

Again, the victory sewer town, along with the rise and fall of Fawkes.

But many of the most epic rp moments for me have been minor DM quests, such as when a little inthralled girl's head blew up in Ruby's face.

That one time with that guy and that other guy, and then the guy that did that thing that led to that event.

Yeah, good stuff.

Where to begin?

Well, how about the beginning! Alpha was pretty badass, when everything had that "new server" smell. Rat hunting, Tigereyes, lots of stuff going on, every character seemed to fit right in, especially because there weren't that many of us!

Then the post-alpha, with the exciting first council election, the little-known minotaur skirmish, the first major "cavern shift" where lots of terrain changed over a small period of time, the drow attack on the city gates...

Tons of stuff after, tons of stuff to come. It's all good stuff and it's been a good ride.

Wilks, stomping motherf***ers in the mud.

Oroborous killing Ix, Strife, Jenner Tenken and Ferdinand Fenwick.

All. By. Himself.

When Winston was threatening to blow up the Beacon...

When a Sslal'teesh Lizard yelled: "FRYAARRRRRR" When a bunch of people went with Julian Fryar to attack the slimy buggers...

When the Rock Bottom got destroyed. :(

Every prelude I've been on.

Mylin taking Imnan down with a slay living in the arena with almost the entire server watching, just as it looked like she was done for. Priceless.

My favorite when the Red Skull cult when down. Oh yea.

The Jaden/Alyssara kiss, undoubtedly.

The Callasil & Feina: Love Everlasting romance comes in a close second.

-SaRF

My favorite, is when I hit the DM kill button and then immediately raise someone to mess up their inventory.

Or, when I catch people Cyboring and send them to cybor-jail.

Yeah, all those epic events that I had absolutely nothing to do with...

For me, awesome is just hanging out with my friends, plain and simple. So my awesome moments are more personal:

When I first started, going in search of the Blue Mushroom to deliver Krovus' package only to end up getting eaten by a deep lizard at the Spire. The whole time going "are you sure its not somewhere in Sanctuary?"

Fire traps. The ancient Arena. That damn key. Any time a DM has possessed anything anywhere for me for any amount of time. The Archibald guard. Warband meetings. And trying to escape...

Watching Inq chase Oro around in a sewer, yelling righteous profanities.

I love this thread and encourage people to keep it coming.

A tiny handful of some of the better moments for me as a DM that come to mind:

The first night when the server opened for alpha testing, and I had basically never DM'ed before, and I got to just bounce around and see people exploring this world. Also seeing the other DM's getting into it. Best night of NWN ever.

The escape quests I've run. I will not spoil, but they were terrific, even if one did last like 13 hours and nearly killed me.

An early alpha DM quest in which a bunch of PCs attacked a goblin fortress filled with slavers and then got to take a little odyssey around the Dark Lake on a boat.

Watching a PC blow up the Comely Inn, turning it into a huge smoking crafter, and having that be persistent through resets.

The early Temrariel plot. Watching the PCs get hunted down, and watching some of the <spoiler spoiler spoiler>. Pretty much anytime I end up possessing Temrariel it gets memorable to me.

Some of the scheming and quests relating to the Earth Wheel plot.

VHULN

Everything to do with Goblin Town. Oh how I miss it.

The return of Moander, including all of the events

The War with Sslal'teesh, including all of the events.

The chaos in Lower: rebellion, insurrection, changing factions, etc.

The Red Skulls

More to come as I think of them.

Oh, and some of the awesome PvP I've witnessed would probably be a whole other thread.

I liked it when I got to sacrafice Snoteye, then kill the alhoon on Seer quest weilding only Acid Splash scrolls, and Melf's Acid Arrow!

Also, the invasion of Sewer Town. That was incredible!

The Red Skulls, too, even though I wasn't there. A great moment in EfU history!

I have a lot of favorite moments on EfU.

However, the one that still stands out the most to me is an epic battle at the Spire. Oroborous will remember - a truly epic battle where only Melrick, Dungal or Gregor could walk away alive. We all ended up dying, but one of Melrick's companions sacrificed his own life in order to have Melrick raised.

It was an epic battle and a super thanks goes out to Howland who ran it.

Every time Temrariel pops up is amazing.

Machine-related times are always good times. I am forced to share a few moments of awesome with those too shy to face the Machine!

Moments include, but are not limited to:

The Entstehung. Best area ever, period.

Spending weeks attempting to understand the Entstehung every night, eventually, after so much effort and time, accidentally trapping Mikhail within. Him desperately wanting out, Azzari desperately wanting in.

A certain metropakt quest involving much death and slaads everywhere. Agent Tumanay and his eternal badass Associate carrying the disaster-bound expedition to success!

Jumping over a chasm right into obese undead svirfneblin, and finding the first part of the Constructorator in their piles of sausages. Their leader spraying gore everywhere upon death.

Completing said Constructorator Model 0x12C (docked form) and the joy of using it.

Exploring the Armory, avoiding its deadly traps while Chosen bang on the door trying to get in.

Team Machine Canada discovering a new Machine quest within record time!

Trying to open Vault 09.

Finding the Stupendous Shimmer Sphere Stadium (and trying to play some... while a lich's gazillion undead foes attack)

Exploring a strange portal in the Machine with the Tigereyes, only to be beset by hundreds of undead svirfneblin! Subsequently planning for days on how to take them out. Sadly never putting that plan in action.

Kraab. Best NPC I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. Wonder where he went?

Translating any Old Svirfneblin Tablet. Especially those that give interesting information. Finally beating that damnable DC 60 Lore Check!

The whole Keeper Mushroom plot.

The Acta Animatron - yet another brilliant piece of script. Now if only it could navigate out of the Workshop.

Convincing Worn that the Machine is alive. Loving said entity. Talking to the Machine. Cajoling the Machine...

And yet so much more...

Huge thanks go out to cawila, metropakt, Howland, Loony, DangerousDan, STD, Arkov and so many more for making the Machine such a magical place. Also thank you to the innumerable clueless meatshields that died horribly to make our trips possible!

I've really enjoyed all of the purportedly foolproof schemes I have been involved in, which have totally unexpectedly, yet without fail, gone horribly wrong and presented new complications and challenges to overcome.

All of the RP 'alliances' I've had with other characters, too, which have evolved to betrayal and conflict (on my part or otherwise).

The complex events which followed Joe Blogs everywhere and the effects they had on his emotions. <3 Calculor for that.

HIS EVIL MUSTACHE!

The sequence of disasters, including rotten fruit and hordes of ravenous, four-foot monster-beasts, which followed my attempting to hoodwink the Upper-Lower Sanctuary tolls system with Polymorph.

Stealing a corpse from the Mausoleum under the cover of Ghostly Visage.

And umm... I might think of more later!

The Beggar Cyboring.

My god, people still do this on EfU?

I remember a particularly amusing little Helkesst quest (Helquest, if you will) involving this ancient lizard burial ground, or some such place. It was between 3 and 4 hours, and was so convoluted and unique that even if I went back there now it would be an entirely new place to me. Undead, lizards, this unique and colorful environment. Really, any DM quest that lasts more than an hour or so makes for such a good memory.

I remember the Stairway quest and I really want you DMs to bring it back, one way or another.

MA, it was Chloe who was stuck in the area, not Mikhail. And she also built a tent made of Chosen hide...

Yes, good times in the Machine.

Good times on the server. So many good times.

To name a few: To be given to Slaal'teesh in exchange for a scimitar, escaping from the sacrifice and then taking on half Slaal'teesh with the group. Oh, and the scimitar was mundane.

To have a field of purple crystal explode in Philip's face.

To smoke purple crystal with Philip and Evelyn.

To steal a boat with hundreds of children from Traensyr with Philip and navigating with absolutely no sense of orientation.

To explore the Machine the thousands of times I've done it.

To flirt with Mbizi (and any other female characters, but mostly Mbizi) as Dimitri

To explore the Underdark as Chloe with Orison and get ambushed by some Orog, killed by goblins, and then do the Orogs quest with Gaeseric the Unyielding and then die again.

To... well, I guess I could go on and on and on and on about it...

And I'd thank a whole bunch of people who made this fun.

Like MA and Loony. Archenson, Canzah, Mort, Nickless, DangerousDan, alstromeria, <3thesuit and I know I'm missing a whole bunch of you. And to the new players (or those who I actually think they are new) that I've recently met.

And to the DMs, like Howland for the fun quests and Metropakt for the fun deaths, and the others who probably killed me a few times here and there.

Oh, and I guess there is a little love for TRB. But mostly hate. Because I still haven't gotten chocolate.

The Golden Doubloons. Most of my best memories on EFU were with that crazy group.

A near death half-orc critting Danael with a scythe and one shotting him to subdued. Classic scythe moment.

The DM hosted arena events where prizes are rewarded. Always fun.

Every time a DM has ever run a custom plot for a character, without being asked to. So much awesome has come from that.

Every election has rocked. There is always so much change, it keeps things fresh and interesting.

The False Flame, and simultaneously trying to take control of the Keeper Mushroom plot, get several cultists elected, and assassinate Anden Thel without blowing my Agent's cover

Worn's Stew Shop

The war with Sslal'teesh, and breaking through the inner gates with Fryar's entourage.

Running the Crone and Unseelie dreams

Dying to Saide Shau Imago

Attacking Ledskir's place

Meetings with Etorix

Scheming with Meldread

The 48 hours that DC and I ran the Dirty Nancies from the Gambling Hall

The Spellguard eating their own

My first PvP death on the server, to Johannes' kobold

Dire bear madness

The many times I've amassed an army of followers, only to die an lol death in pvp because of my shameful build and shoddy tactics

For 48 hours, Leslie and Arcuturus reigned supreme.

Then I killed him. =(

Marje and our Intryzz adventurers, Zau and his "I AM A BOMB" tactics. Inadvertently unleashing a devil upon the community. Private Snazral Bertlebe being publicly immolated sticks in my mind.

The early days of Watch vs Tigereye, oh so many good times I can't even list them all without feeling a bit sad.

On reading some other posts, I have a few more things to add...

Anything a DM has ever done for me was great. (Possessions, random experience points- I appreciate just knowing I'm being watched, and hopefully enjoyed!)

Moander. Even though I know absolutely nothing about how it was done, bringing Moander back was the most awesome thing that could have been done. Finder was so wimpy.

All the DMs and all the players I've been involved with so far, especially Johannes, Vlaid, erglion, Meldread, daJollyMole, lovethesuit, efuincarnate, Wyric, core, and countless others - almost everyone on EfU, everyone makes it what it is. You rock.

Really. EfU is the best.

Johannes All of the RP 'alliances' I've had with other characters, too, which have evolved to betrayal and conflict (on my part or otherwise).

Red Skull Plot. It owned all the way through.

Or, the Druids of Fury prelude. Because we gave everyone a chance to pwnt us.

Being a part of the Griffon Red was awesome too.

In fact, all the RP moments on EfU have turned out to be awesome. Good job to all of the DMs and Players who make it as fun as it is.

Unforgettable moments?

Watching Zovaldar and Etorix fighting, during the formian war.

My Seeker's first slave freeing operation. (stealing a boat and navigating through the Dark Lake with a bunch of slaves with no idea of even how to navigate). Crazy stuff.

Any DM quest or event, or even spice I ever got into, all of it was really awesome. Thanks to the DMs for their sheer awesomeness, all of them!

I can't really remember much else right now. :(

Not even a mention of Kyle and Sol :P

I remeber my first DM quest that was run by howland with Thorigan getting a huge amount of Gold and a Kobold baby and giving it all to lord Bunge to raise the wee nipper i never did find out what happend to that Kobold Baby.

Any quest with Olavo Bilac, especially those with Dakul, Dace, Norin, Grog, and many others ... every time some DM was on it we had an even greater time. Thanks!

When Olavo helped "someone" to became a Cave Worm.

The tribe of the Blades fight contest.

The animatron invasion in Upper.

When Olavo, Anung and GatadaSaraiva got chased even in the sewer crypt quest.

Sneaking into Traensyr, dressed as Kobold, before promptly stealing the horde of a powerful Mage, and getting my family blade back.

Going into the Stew Shop for the first time.

Wandering around the machine with MA and STD.

Watching Orison + co get made a Lower Councillor by Big Bill and Winston.

My Hot Tub.

The Sewer Town defence, and my subsequent distortion of the facts.

Assasination of *Spoiler*. >_>

Geraint being forced to kill a child.

Our 13 hour escape quest.

More to come!

When I almost got to destroy the time flow of Toril. <3. (Thanks Helkesset!) Unfortunately no one was really there to witness that <.<.

Druids of Fury, Totally.

Noirin, Gudmundur, Tyrus Creed, A seeker, and Kasin Moonsbane going out and ending up being chased across the underdark by a Death Slaad. (on going plot I think!)

The time I got to slay the Abberation Boris with all my buddies. (this time include Elmualleth Anver and Otto Lonmore)

More to come.

The romances that Kyle had with Najara, Dezria, Sindel, Ruby, Clara and others that he has tried it on with.

Dying to a Goblin Chieftan in the mines saving Ruby only to have Wiggyboy set up a small DM quest for Ruby to get a group together and go and get Kyle's body back.

Being held hostage by a doom knight in the temple of lower awaiting a hero to come along and save me. Thank Labrea.

Finding a starving lizarfolk in the goblin caves and taking a quest to go and raid a cache of drow weapons (kudos to Metro for that one)

As jack watching an elf in the brewery get blown up by a goblin sucide bomber then have jack laugh as he gets covered in the mess of his remains, Arkov was a good sport with that one.

I am sure i can think of more

Mikhail The Heretic The romances that Kyle had with

Being held hostage by a doom knight in the temple of lower awaiting a hero to come along and save me. Thank Labrea.

That was cool! The first of top fun moments I expect to have with Vilae, which was "hidden" or trying to remain hide while the doom knight was having fun.

Cheers!

The Golden Doubloons and much of what I did with Varden Lusk. Was always great fun leading a squad of Doubloons through a quest, trying to keep a bit of order and tactics going. Punching out LTS' elf girl mercenary was certainly a highlight. The aftershocks of the Lower Revolution, Cail Durris' fight and the downfall of Johnny Dimes. All of the House Levine roleplay. Preaching with Kudur Adad (and killing a Scalebane character with two hits!) The communal events with the Tribe of the Blade and the joy of being able to say crazy things with a goblin physician. Assassinating a certain character. A long, long escape quest.

All the events surrounding figuring out who Sheriff Walters really was, and how he was short on MORALITY. The steamy Shane/Jastran/Alex love triangle. The Za'narlixxtri plot! Playing dress up with Worn in faction gear. Scae turning into a troll during a boring conversation with Ilora to liven things up. Mustafa running in half way through an event, and the subsequent escape quest of doom.

The night that Bhast was assassinated! And everything that Kobe and Syrena went through that evening..even the beat-down they received at the town hall! :P And Syrena basically eluding to martial law..and look where we are now! Irony!

The day the walls were set upon by Spitfire and all his boys. Everyone was on the battlements/walls, firing arrows, bolts, rocks, and spells back at the goblins..Syrena got a couple of dwarves to go with her out of the opposing gates. Gave me a little flutter when we ran all the way to the third 'tier' surrounding the walls, and ran around to get behind the goblin ranks..and to watch two dwarves just come sailing downhill with Syrena to crash into their ranks from behind. And the ensuing chaos of melee thereafter.

Syrena/Kobe. 'nough said, interesting couple.

I believe it was Howland adding spice to my first ever chance at the trolls quest! Troll babies! Moral predicament: leave them alive, or do they die? To the dwarf I was playing...I think it goes without saying.

Not sure which DM, but when he/she/it spiced up the Lizardfolk quest at Slaa'teesh about a month ago, or so. Made it really challenging, and really nearly impossible..I believe we had to go as far as retreating. It was fun regardless, despite losing two levels! :P

And one which I'm surprised no one has posted.....

The night that kobolds/goblins were removed as application only!

There was a veritable abundance of PvP, and goblin/kobold hating going on!

Oh! Scae hunting down said green buggers! It was nice to be standing there talking to one, while he would appear out of nowhere behind them..they'd usually scream, and run..and Scae would just disappear..and wait for them to come back! :P

Noirin dying..I wasn't there. But the server was blessed.

Watching a party get pwn'd by an Underdark Behemoth Spider..despite warning. (my vote for coolest spawn)

Oh! Now the special thanks...

Ebokian Knight, Germain8880, Howland, sherry!(and all it's attention in helping me make Syrena into a fulfilling character, and Paladin..ly..ish..type), MKB, LaBrea(always so helpful, every time I have a question), metro(same as LaBrea!), djspectre(rarely interact, but love Drin to death), Core, the Machine, God, Halfbrood!(much love, word), Thomas_is_wise(despite giving him a hard time, always, I do like him!), Vlaid, Den, Winston Martin, Norma Walders(thanks for always being there for me hon!), and finally..Gobbler. Thanks for all the support!

*Minor Edit* The Red Skull ending, of course! The truth revealed the next day just floored me as a player! And the event itself was -fantastic-..you could really feel the emotion of the characters trying to save the boy, the people angry that they were so dense and nieve, and you could feel the determination and stalwart resolution the Red Skulls had come to..or most of them.

The above stated list of individuals to be thanked by Heather F. is not hereby supported by Escape from Underdark or any of its subsidiaries. Furthermore, this list is in no particular order, and shouldn't be taken as the law of the land. Much love..and vote Illithid.

No one mentions me :(

No but seriously having Snorri pick a fight with a pit fiend at the gates of lower and live that was very cool.

Rping with the house of light faction and espically all the cool people that where in it like Nestek, Omma Dawn (espically for what happend between Eowung and Kyle) Eco 1, armanis, Ellisandro, Laurrochev the list of people i could thank is endless there.

Being in the madness that was the dwarf clan with the only dwarf who worhips a human god

- My very first character on EfU missed his chance to get some DM loot on three different occasions, so Howland decided to set him up with a nice little personal quest in the mines. Having no clue what was happening, I proceeded to rush back to town, bringing half of town with me, only to have most of the loot snatched away from me a fourth time. Looking back on it, I was having alot of fun being so clueless.

- Anything involving Ruby Cannonball was a blast. The boat trips were some of the best fun I've ever had.

- Anything involving H.K.L. Best was huge. True fact: I once locked him up in a confined space for 30 minutes. It was completely by mistake, but at least I can say that I did it.

- Spying on Aledrec of Yhaunn, watching him FD a subdued PC gnoll, then seeing him type "// oops, misclick"

- Since it's no longer a spoiler, I have to say that encountering a well-played Halaster Blackcloak was quite a treat. Good job to whomever was possessing him!

- All of the plotlines involving illithid. Dr Dragon spent two entire hours talking one of my characters into becoming a thrall. Jaden's dealings with illithid have been pure insanity.

- I love battles at the gates. Formians, lizardfolk, or even just random spawns. The large-scale combat I've experienced on EfU is without parallel, and it really pushes the limits of what the game engine is capable of.

In all, EfU has been the single best gaming experience I've ever had, on or off the table.

Oh wow. Let's start from the beginning.

- Battling Inq with Oro in the Sewers for a good ten minutes, only to see the rats win the day.

- Playing a Tigereye and facing off against at least two Kiaring led factions.

- Nearly getting tossed into molten lava by Bug, whacked out of his mind after Zerelde fried a bunch of Orog babies in front of his face.

- Secretly taking incredibly shady jobs from the real Tigereye leader. Organizing murders that remain server mysteries for ages. Dealing with every single person that always resisted arrest in Lower on a day to day basis.

- Quelling riots outside the Tigereye Fortress. Working tirelessly to destroy Seeker insurrectionists.

- Arresting Laramie Lathae and Ambrose Crownguard after they tried to subdue 'Crazy Andy', only to have the Spellguard turn the incident into a mockery of the Society - painting them as attacking mentally retarded Lower residents. Amazing.

- Beating down Benito Delgado in the Crone with a CLUB, only to face trial moments later for it. Ivandur's verdict infuriating the entire Spellguard Faction.

- Shady deals with Zau, never knowning if either one of us was about to pull the trigger and betray the other.

- Brawling with the Watch and getting whooped nearly everyday with my goblin cleric. Having Bungo Taddle as my mortal enemy!

- Navigating my way through Ysinode, only to be blasted to pieces instantly by the Elder Brain.

- Purposely trolling the Council forums with an aberration obsessed freak-job.

- The luckiest rolls of my life, facing the Sewertown Raiders from Upper, followed by the most ridiculous PvP I've ever seen on EFU the next day when Big Bill was deposed.

OK, the amazing stuff I've seen as a DM will take a new post. =)

-Since it's no longer a spoiler, I have to say that encountering a well-played Halaster Blackcloak was quite a treat. Good job to whomever was possessing him!

Thank you!

Ok! So, since we're going with big lists.

-Alpha was of course super awesome. Thrawn DM Killing me Accidentally, within the first 5 minutes of the server.

-Howland saving Alex from a Draghazar with a Spellguard Agent, only for me to walk outside and die to Dire Rats not 2 minutes later.

-The Temrariel Plot, and watching his epic fight with *spoiler*.

-Going away for 2 days, only to return to find my Estate full of little kids.

-Becoming Lord of House Archibald, after a year of playing the character. Such a good reward.

-Vince Erins, Orison, and Tommy delivering Goblin Shit Soup to Sheriff Short, and him almost eating it.

-The Ghaunadauran Drow. Both being killed by them, and later, playing their human slave.

-Nearly everything I did on Casca Quinn was memorable for me. From demanding entrance to the Watch on the night of the Lizardfolk invasion, to his death in the Sewertown Battle to Sherry's lucky crits.

-Seeing Casca's Gauntlet in the Curio shop for the first time.

-Leslie's early days in the Nancies, where noone thought twice of him. Then, Leslie's later days where for the first time, people actually feared a character I made.

-Chasing Ledskir across four screens, and finally stabbing him in the back.

-Running the Nancies for 2 days, before being taken down so randomly, and hilariously.

-The battle's with Zovaldar.

-Harlow Penrose. Nuff said.

-And now, all the stuff going on this election. Big thanks to HarryK for making it one of the funnest in a long time.

Personally:

Releasing that first issue of The Sanctuary Times and the tidalwave of RP I got from it.

Being the whisper in the ear of Lower Sanctuary's First seperatist government.

Having illuminaughty's Worst NPC Assasin ever offer me a pint of "Green frothing bubbling liquid that is melting the tankard".

And more recently, seeing the residential disctrict and being amazed at all the work that had been put into it.

The quest I got from Helkesst the second I made Eriseth Foxglove, and the subsequent piece of completely mundane loot that personified the character I got from it. But that's just a me thing.

Worldwide, I'd have to say the Tigereye's being overthrown was rocking for me. The chaos and the Watch sneaking down in the aftermath was immense.

Never really got in on many DM quests or events sadly over the time I've been on EFU with my many, mostly very short lived Characters (might just rival Thomas for how many i have had). But of all the stuff I have done the best thing had to be the utter chaos that was the House of Light with Jozan and his merry band of well meaning friends who gods save us all included Verisa who decided from the off that the whole place was just too drab and the poor needed a place covered in fine cloath and fancy decor and the RP of Jozan going slowely mad listening to it all. Couple that with all the cool stuff I did with Jozan besides Re-building the House, his marrage to May, his trying so hard to get Kyle to stop his endless lust for every woman he saw, trying to get Kaddaz to snap out of his Darth Vader montage and meeting counciler Bhast and just about convincing him that I had gotten Winston to leave with Frankie even though that was not part of the deal i had made with the angles. The list with him alone is endless. Biggest thanks to the DM team has to be for hanging Thorigans Axe in the halls of Clan stoutheart, even if he wasnt at any point a member of the clan, just a mad old warrior who smoked, drank and grumbled more than most.

There I mentioned you colin so now you can stop moaning about how no-one has.....

Nearly forgot the without doubt craziest thing I have ever done here, being tried for plotting the assasination of Sheriff Fawkes with my crazed cleric of Bhall (Nupraptor Tane to those that might remember him). Having the watch march me to my death while he spouted random rubbish about how it was all in vain and his death would only serve the lord of murder. Finally being stoned and signing his soul over to a Balor lord to serve in the legions of the hells with his old friend and fellow plotter Kale.

Then the madness that was the lizard folk assualt in the coming days and some nut ranting that Nupraptor had warned the people of the city that his death would lead to a great many following him into shadow.

I left EFu for a bit more from not having broadband but now am back, and simply put the server is better than ever. Well done to all the DM team and everyone playing, that makes this place truelly the best.

Some notable favorites...

Ivandur and Mandarin brawling in the tunnels.

Zerelde vs Doubloons, final act.

Crone boxing!

Snazral vs Karick the Crusher.

Fezlkirn's accidental death.

Wilks vs Everyone.

Maalgor's reign of terror.

Worn and Earas at the end of an escape attempt.

Tigereye Namli's 4CHA hijinks.

Strife and Ix ambushing some lone goblins (lol)

Paladins trying to reclaim the Beacon by force following the revolt, and Laramie's appearance immediately following.

Wesh Shields' jailhouse brutality.

A certain Eillistraen's afterlife.

The lair of the Vampire Queen, which became a week long quest in alpha.

Dying in the arms of Ruby Cannonball.

Bobo's magical gameshow.

Elia's SG entrance exam.

Seekers stealing a kuo-toan boat to make a daring escape.

Stoutheart finding a hidden lair with many secrets.

Sewer Town battle feat. Tooth.

Adriana Lakes' arguments with others.

Grungetoe's trial.

Drilacko's meltdown.

Selling a half-orc PC for supplies at the start of an escape quest.

Bungo Taddle appearing out of nowhere to go Batman on Dimes' gang.

Slaads everywhere! And Dire Bear Madness.

The injured paladin in the Temple of Hoar.

Watching false rumors spread by a Sharran PC cause massive consequences.

The Two Toboerskis.

So many more too -_-

Noirin dying..I wasn't there. But the server was blessed. HATE YOU ARIASA!

Selling a half-orc PC for supplies at the start of an escape quest. I thought that was Howland selling me...

Goblins!!!!! Espeacially the end of goblin town, taunting players with dwarven stew! The battle that followed, though ending goblin town , was epic. At least it felt that way.

My time in the Watch with Nymm under Fawkes, chaseing down the Ghaundruan cultists, faceing the lizardmen invasion, and finally takeing the fight to them, with that insane gnome who's name has slipped my mind leading the way.

Pushing the Key to the Machine plot even though my deepgnome did not live to see it's outcome, I take it by the guardian elementals he did not die in vein...everytime I see those, it makes me smile.

Lower. 'nuf said. Never a dull day down there.

By far the DM staff and player base...old and young, all combine to make EFU as a whole the best gameing experinece out there. Tried picking up new releases, new solo games, mmropg, always end up back here, where the good stuff thrives....good being a matter of preception depending on the day and the PC

The unhealthy Dunwarren Armory obsession Tarnis Westwind had and his eventual success at cracking the puzzle to get in.

My paladin Arthan Dominicus unleashing the Green Animatron on Sanctuary from the Bowels.

Arthan leading about 25 characters into the Chosen Arena after fighting the long way through the bowels for 2 hours chasing the Green animatron after it attacked the city a second time.

The Moander disease plot where Tarnis stole the cure from the villain.

The time when Tarnis befriended a Deep Dire Frog who then helped us destroy the Ogre King.

Tarnis and Meriam's relationship.

The time when the tigereyes were routed and the House of Light was decimated in the same night.

First quest I solo'd with Drin was the Boggs quest and the DM spiced it for me that me appreciate the paladin class a whole lot more!

Drin and 7 others fighting through the entire Lower Hoar sub-quest with a DM at the controls who then sealed us in and forced us to complete it!

The Flying Chosen DM @ area where Robo-rothes fought undead gnomes endlessly - and my group was caught in the middle!

Tracking down Temrariel to his lair, beseeching him for his aid, battling for a solid 5/10 minutes with Scrappayeti in front of him to prove our resolve, skill and worth!

And then having him tear out J'hazzerad's eyeball and replace it with an ooze.

'Miserly' Maerigir Ledskir and 'Apathetic' Annie Tannebaum hurling insults at one another, whilst their gangs stood on, itching for a fight.

And then showing the Nancy scum what was what ^^

I think The Nancies won in the end. <_<

Well i havn't been here as long as some but one of the characters i enjoyed the most was Gnarled bat Knickerson what a foul mouthed prick! Only winston could control the man  oh and when narr'ghuul and team orc beat up sstre'elemensu in lower and all the elves came to lower to the rescue. Eras and nar went at it and kobe stood and watched. You crooked cop you. :P

One of my very first experience on EfU was an exploration mission across the Dark Lake that eventually had us battling stone giants in a map with a gorge and single bridge that spanned it.

We drove deep through a warren of stone giant caves, and finally at some point the DM said "no one has ever been here before".

I think there was a scripted quest that we hadn't gotten, and the DM let us in and the whole thing just rocked hard. We were about out of supplies and spells, and had to use a fighting retreat all the way back to the entrance of the cave. A stone giant then came out and starting whacking our exhausted and depleted party, but we finally killed it and made our escape.

Gimball the Stoutheart, my own first character who was a dwarf warrior named Durgan were there, but I can't remember who else was there. There was a rocking elf ranger with a mohawk who fought his nads off, maybe Edgar the physician, and I just can't recall the others, but they were very well played.

Holler if you remember that one!

Metro_Pack .... The injured paladin in the Temple of Hoar.....

I remember that person and was supposed to have gone with him on that 'redemption'. After I heard OOCly what became of him - I'm glad I had other obligations that day!

I don't think he was talking about me.

Uh.

Was he?

No, I struggle just to remember that you exist, let alone speak about you, DD.

I hate you.

So.

So.

Much.

I remember that time I made a really neat topic that got to 5 pages in like 2 days and won a shining endorsement from Howland on the first page!

Big daddy, LTS.

Second page.

A Moth.

That was a nice time, not only the quest itself but the Seekers answering our questions about stuff that just kept raising more questions and really gave the assurance that this server has quite a deep backstory and many mysteries to uncover, for those who dare.

Exploring chunks of the server with a stealthy character and finding a great deal; crystal grottos, mushroom forests, a dead town, a kuo-toa city, a ship manned by undead, a canyon patrolled by Stone Giants. There is a lot out there to explore though most people stay in Sanctuary.

Surviving my first "this is permdeath" quest today, hurrah!

The early brawls my fighter was involved in, punchups and threats, the feel of a tough town.

To try and keep things short, I'll pick a single moment (not necessarily the most memorable, either - some are kept secret because they're still IC-ly sensistive, methinks) for each of my significant characters!

Danael - The first time I ever did the goblin fort quest with Danael, Howland was spicing it, and it was truly the first time I had the feeling that EfU was going to be utterly epic. This was a month or so after alpha, and my true first taste of excelence on the server. I remember fighting for my life at every twist and turn - and the initial assault of the goblin gate took around 15 minutes. Of pure adrenaline. My Doubloons were with me, and at every goblin killed, I felt like a true military leader leading men in combat!

Iryan - Blowing up the first incarnation of the House of Light. It was lolz. Especially the completely rushed way in which I did it. It led to my death! :(

Imnan - Taking up the mantle of the False Flame and converting a few characters to the cause. I remember with particular fondness my battle against two Watchmen just outside the gates, which took about FIFTEEN MINUTES to get done, and ended in a stalemate. Lado was trying to learn how to use the DM Client in the meantime, and kept spamming annoying permanent light effects. Dumbass. XD Also of note: LOL DEEP LIZARD

Majre - Though she wasn't as well-characterized (imo) as some of the others, she was probably the most fun to play. Just all the times in the Crone, plotting with Zau, Squeagle and those folks from the old days were golden. But my favoritest moment has to be the duel against Caddies' Banite Priest, in which a heavily wounded and honestly beaten Majre had to offer herself sexually to Panama's nearby Watchman in order to win the fight. Pure comedy gold.

Osmyr - Slaying the orphanage for teh lolz.

Victoria - I just had a really good time RPing her, with the people in the Watch at the time. Also, she was something of a group concept, and the characters that surrounded her were both fun and interesting to interact with.

All in all, I see I haven't involved myself with things as epic as some of you here, and that's probably due to my complete incapacity to focus on a concept for longer than a month (Majre, of all these characters, lasted the longest, and that was a month and a half). But, who knows! Maybe in the future!

- Kk!

I'll never forget when that dragon appeared in front of the Town Hall. That was scary lol!

Always love Mara and Meldred's fun with enslavement heh.

And Fen showing up three hours late for his wedding and worrying Jenner to death. (irl he was snowed in and without a computer or something)

Oh and the Behemoth Spider the group I was in killed. It was too big to get to us through the narrow tunnel. We spend half an hour shooting at it. I think I played Telli then. Panama Lane or someone ran up to stab it but it almost killed him in two hits so he went back.
