Well, this is an idea that I got from hearing about people being lost in the underdark. I sudjest that theres a starting portal the spawns you randomly out in the underdark. You could spawn anywhere from the relative safety of black lake to in the hell of the outer edges of Efu, party's would all go to the same place. This spawn mode would probably give you a detraction to starting gold and a bonus to starting XP. This portal would give characters a chance to have their own kind of prelude, representing a hard start for a Player faction or character.

Once again, just an idea.

Meh, if you wanted to do something like this you could just ask a DM to do it manually. I don't anticipate this being extremely popular...

Yes, have a portal that sends people right next to something that can kill them before they load the screen.

Just take the "Underdark" starting portal, skip the duergar, and try to enter the city through the Lower Gate. Or, just wander around in a random direction other than the city gates and RP with the first person you run into on the road. If you are lucky, they might try to enslave you.

It's a good way to start a character if you think you know what you are doing buck naked in the wild at level 2.

This is rather silly. EfU is hard enough for new players as it is-I don't think offering them a portal that they might run into and get slaughtered is a very wise investment! I also expect very few "veteran" players would take it as well, making it, as Garem said, a pointless endeavor.

If they're retarded enough to skip the "Lower Sanctuary" Portal, the "Upper Sanctuary" Portal, the "Underdark" Portal and pick the "ZOMG UNDERDARKZ HARD MOED" Portal. They deserve all the pwnage they get.
