Old stuff
Since many of us are college kids and will have ample time this winter break, I'm looking for a few people interested in playing a character on a modern zombie survival NWN PW. Since I don't have the playtime during school, I will personally be (mostly) abandoning the group in a few weeks, so I intend to be a very lively group with some intense action. From what I've played so far the world is pretty interesting and the community seems to be a group of pretty good RPers, which is frequently not the case in a lot of ZS communities (where do you think I found Secutor? Yea, true story).

There are a few options I've thought of, and I'm all ears to suggestions:
-A bunch of thuggish neighbors from the slums who love a little mayhem and find their new and chaotic world to be just what the world needs- to start over, live life like the Stone Age... (based loosely on the neo-nazis from Smokin' Aces and Fight Club) My second favorite idea.
-ex-cops (or ex-firefighters) trying to pull the people at the headquarters together, every one having their own ideas about how to get the job done right. My third favorite.
-citizens-turned-mercenaries who want to lay down their own set of rules (needs more detail)
-An Upper-Middle class family just trying to make it through the madness but whom refuse to leave their great-grandpa behind and were unable to evacuate him before the infection. This is my favorite so far.
-A bunch of high school students from either totally different or nearly a identical situation (i.e. a sports team, and NO, we won't play the damned cheersquad, I'm sorry Wern) who managed to stick together through the madness because of some odd coincidence (detention/athletic event/whatever).
I'll be playing during the days- nights will be for partying like a rockstar. Thus, Europeans who play late or Americans who play during the day are best, although I won't deter anyone from hopping onboard. If you would like to join me, say so here as well as which ideas you like best (or your own idea!). Rank your favorites first through third. If you have questions, please direct them to me via PMs. I'll probably be using this thread to keep the group posted on what's up. ----------------------------------------------------------------
IMPORTANT: You need to register on the forums to access the downloads section. Steps:
1) Register for the forums. 2) Download the required haks; this takes some manual adjustment and placement, so make sure to read the whole forum. 3) Download the second link- there was a ____2a.hak file missing from the first. You won't be able to enter the server without it, and if you try to it will tell you exactly what file you need.
You may now play. Continue for the extra goodies.
4) Download the portrait files. Not too many of them, but they're good portraits. 5) Download the music files. You can actually hear them in-game from jukeboxes, cd players, etc..

Mechanics info:
When you're looking for items, you can use either Search or Spot. To use spot, disable Detect Mode and "use" the searchable location. To use search, enable Detect Mode. There is no difference between the two and no mechanical advantage for taking both skills.
Having good disease resistance is a very good thing.
Bullets are REALLY hard to get in sizable quantities, considering the danger of retrieving them coupled with the low probability of actually finding them. Even when you do, you get 1-12 at a time and there are 15+ different kinds of ammo...

Current arrangement for the Roberts family. Note that the blanks are just a rough outline; some of these family members may already have died.
Definate family: Great grandpa Brennecker, mother's grandfather: the reason the family stayed; gonna ask if we can get him as an NPC, if not, we'll assume he perished. He was a perfect example of a grumpy old man.
Doctor Johnathan Roberts, the uncle/brother (Garem): A swarthy and wealthy radiologist from West Tennessee. Always a bit too adventurous, thus never married. He treats his nephews and nieces as if they were his own children. He spent two terms as an alderman for a Memphis suburb before returning to practice. An avid sportsman and outdoorsman. Fifty-two years old, and in decent health.
Son of undetermined aged (The Focusing of Skilled Pwnage): "I'll go for a quiet, introspective type who, while seeming to be soft, is actually quite sadistic. He believes greatly in poetic justice and the greater beauty in things, and has a strong dislike for whoever in the family is the most manly and brave, and assumedly vice versa. He will most likely slowly turn mad by the Undead around him and become evil, Lord of the Flies style."
Allison Roberts, Daughter (Linelle): 21 years old girl, "'Allie' is a driven and unconventional girl. Highly intelligent and witty she is not one to submit to peer pressure, managing to stand out in her own way. Despite being charming and friendly, she is somewhat self-conscious about her looks and has a tendency to be messy and behave awkwardly on account of this. But she still is very convinced of her own views and thinks of her parents as somewhat old-fashioned. Currently studying at college for a major degree in education and a minor in english; also developping an eating disorder. Because everything was mostly just handed to her in the past she has an extra hard time to adjust to a life in the post-apocalyptic nightmare."
Younger son, 17-20 year old (Poiking of Paha): "A rather young fellow on his edge of heading to independent and adult life, as he is, I was thinking of a rogue character. He's a quiet type of a fellow, with habbit of breaking it all out in one burst if it goes to that. He's a bit snobbish, thinking that as they are, he and he's family can do everything better than most of them, and tries to live up to it."
Grandpa Brennecker, mother's active grandfather (StD): In his seventies. Always complains about his aching back.
Cousin, son or daughter of the father and uncle's sister (LTS): Eccentric cousin.
Tentative family:
Father, Dr. Robert's younger brother, age around fifty.
Mother, a few years younger than her husband to allow son/daughter age flexibility.
