Upper Sanctuary.
Buy a splint mail or somesuch from the armour seller Gloignar. Realise I've buggered up and spent my savings in vain. Fair enough, I'll deal with that ICly. Try to sell it back...."Merchant won't buy goods of this sort"...Eh?
So the armour seller won't buy back goods of the sort he sold, (makes you wonder where his stock came from) but the ancient haberdasher, Norma, next door will buy armour. Also, the return of 85 on a cost of 250 is pretty poor.
It may well be designed thusly, but seemed peculiar.

Basically he's selling you all his clan's trash, he really doesn't want it back.
(Merchant prices are determined by bioware mostly, and there are issues we need to keep an eye on in terms of potential exploits with selling goods from one shop to another, so a lot of merchants don't buy things at all -- I might go through and make some adjustments though, with other shops)

Can everything be bought somewhere? I remember being hard pressed to find someone to unload a specific amulet off on.

No, definitely not, in fact almost all ambient loot and DM loot is marked stolen specifically to avoid merchants from buying it. Sell it or give it away, it's entirely by design that merchants won't buy most things.

Sure, fully understood.
But in truth it makes sense for a trader to buy back his own goods at a discount to sell once again at a premium. It's straight forward business sense (knowing you're going to sell them). Why else become a trader of item X otherwise?
Cheers.

The Merchants of Clan Grunstubhle have entire warehouses filled with what they're selling, it's called "surplus" after all ;-)
Sorry to hear about your misclick, though, I've had more than my fair share myself.

Heh, you're a wily old fox.
Wonder if I could buy fifty suits straight up?
I know it's surplus, and your explanations are accepted. :)
