Why? You may ask.

Allow me, Lady Sophia van Durin, to list the reasons that this would be a wise choice:

* I will see that our valiant defenders of Sanctuary are well equipped, and prepared to face any threat which falls upon our great walls.

* I will be readily available and approachable for any citizen of our beloved Sanctuary. Be it during my dinner, while reading reports within my office within the town hall, or even in the middle of a private, personal meeting. The opinions and concerns of the population of our delightful city is my number one concern.

* I will be a voice of reason, tolerance, and wisdom upon our Council. I will not allow foolish vanity and pride to overrule my duties as a Councilor, nor to turn away any citizen in need.

* I will see that our heroes, and those who serve the city of Sanctuary faithfully and loyally are rewarded, and in the event of their demise, a proper burial and service given to them, and I will take whatever steps necessary to see that their sacrifice is remembered for years to come, or until the time arrives that we leave this city of Sanctuary.

* I will strive to bring respect, and justice to the Council. Long has corruption ran rampant through our beloved Council, our highest form of leadership within this city of Sanctuary. I will seek to end such blatant disregard for your safety, my safety, and the safety of every other citizen within our walls.

* I will make great effort in expanding our current resources, and work diligently with our many willing adventurers and city defenders in fortifying our walls, and our other defenses throughout the city in an effort to bide time while we locate this resources to further our survival while we reside within the Underdark.

* I will work diligently, and do everything, within the extent of the law, which I must do to obtain the necessary funding required to begin a number of charities that will aid in raising the quality of life for every citizen of our beloved Sanctuary.

* I will not give the citizens of our bastion of hope and survival, Sanctuary, false promises and vows that I will not uphold.

In closing, I do hope each citizen of Sanctuary will make the correct choice, and elect an educated woman who has been a mother, and a wife. A woman who knows the responsibilities of a woman to nurture and see that their children grow and prosper, just as I will do with our fair city.

*If elected into Council, Sophia van Durin will not support cult worship and membership.

*If elected into Council, Sophia van Durin will not base decisions of the future of Sanctuary upon beauty and vanity.

*If elected into Council, Sophia van Durin will not permit slaving denizens of the Underdark to reside within our home, Old Sanctuary. Should a denizen of the Underdark seek refuge within our Sanctuary, they may approach the gates at their own peril, and seek guest status within the city limits.

*If elected into Council, Sophia van Durin will not keep the gate separating Old Sanctuary and the Lower ward open. She will push to have the gate closed, and sealed, preventing the brigands from Lower passing as they wish. The Upper gates will remain open.

*If elected into Council, Sophia van Durin will not put her personal pride before the citizens of Sanctuary's safety and well-being.

*If elected into Council, Sophia van Durin will not stand idly by while our defenders; the Sanctuary Watch, Spellguard, and our lost defenders, the Seekers; stand idly by bickering amongst themselves over authority. I will push to have clear, defined protocals established between the groups to clarify and finalize their jurisdictions, duties, and authorities.

Remember, if you, as a responsible citizen of Sanctuary wish to see a strong woman placed upon the Council. A wife, a mother, and citizen that will see change began, and in some cases continued, in the city of Sanctuary...
