You swam the womb of your mother in Darkness.
Darkness comforted or terrified you as a child.
You live in it, make love in it, hide in it when you weep, and finally die in it.
It is in your heart when you lose someone. It is in your heart when a slight to you demands redress. It is your solace, the boon of closing eyes, forgetful of the turmoil that grips you in this brief and fretful life.
Why then do you neglect it and pray to gods of light instead, gods of a surface you will never see? Give homage instead to what is real and immediate ; what can hide and nurture you, soothe and comfort you, and finally at the last drain away your worries and cares forever.
Pray to the Darkness, and be blessed.
