I was unable to find anything on the site, which does not mean it isn't there, about many of the items I am finding in the game, or how to even use them.
I noticed the gnome in the bazaar sells a conjuration focus and dust for identifying conjuration reagents. I am not sure what these are for, or what systems this server is using that these would be for.
Will some of my spells eventually require reagents? Are there reagents that will make my spells stronger?
What does a spell school focus item do? It would be nice to understand how to use it and what it does in an OOC sense, so if I buy it I have a clue what it does.
If this is all answered somewhere I would love a link.
On a separate note I notice mage armour gives +1 dodge/4 levels. Does that mean it is useless until I reach 4th? Or does it give +1 at first level and then increase by +1 every four levels after that?
I am not looking to discuss whether this is right or not (I saw a thread on that) I just need to know how it works mechanically.
Thanks

Conjuration focus let's you focus on a reagent (pieces of things that alter conjurations), and set it as the target for the next summon.
For example, your Summon Creature III summons a Deep Spider normally. Now, if you target the reagent on a piece of Mushroom Tabacco, you get a Smoke Monster, with a DC 14 longue-attack.
There are plenty of reagents to be found in-game, and obviously my above mentioned example is not a real one, but if you find suspicious things, target them with your Conjuration sand to see what it does.
And on the Mage Armor subject, I would not know.

Awhile ago, I seem to remember the summoning system in the game to be highly 'foig'. Has that changed enough to allow a lot of talk about it on the forums?

FOIG works well, I asked the merchant that sells the focus to explain what it does ( a little polite request on the DM channel) and he happily told me (in his wierd gnomish way) what it did. The sand is sort of self explanitory.

He wanted to know what the objects where, not what kind of reagents he would have to use to conjure 'X'.
But I second that things should be found out in-game.

I was even referring on how to USE the reagents :)
