The D&D equivalent of chirtmas. Kinda. So I reccomend we have a kind of wintery festival thing IG, but as all my character are either A: Not alive or B: too stern to do this, I just have to through it out here.
The Feast of the Moon Festival
Different clergies have different holy days, and some days are celebrated regionally or my the majority of the people of Faerun. PCs are encouraged to put something together if that's what your character might be passionate about! I like when PCs do most of the work, and we just put up signs and lights and make cameos with famous NPCs. Occasionally a DM will run something that coincides with an FR holiday, but I personally don't really know them that well unless it's part of a plot I'm working on.
Take some initiative! Even if your plans don't require DM assistance, if you've got a rockin' idea you might find us helping you out anyways.
Sanctuary should have a national holiday for it's founding. Perhaps this festival of the moon could act as that, though called something different.
Feel free to pressure the Council to declare public days of festival each year in game. I rather like that idea, actually.
