Frank,
I am writing to discuss some events from last dark at the School. I am not sure of the rules of the School, so let me know what is the guideline for the future.
A Watch permitted the fighting of two citizens: a man in red and an elf with strange hair. They had a dispute from the streets and brought it to the School to settle things with blades. A halfling, a Mister Jameson I think, made a gift of 300 coin to the School to support this. (I have this gold and can transfer it at any time.)
The man and elf fought, and once the elf was subdued the man killed him on the spot. I did not realize, but, in fact they had agreed to fight to the death. The Watch had also agreed to those terms. As such he did not arrest the man, and let everyone leave except for the halfling who he arrested for littering the arena with rotten fruit. I asked him to drop the charge on behalf of the School because of his generous gift. Although I did hope that the hin would come to the arena again to clean it up personally under my supervision. I doubt this will happen.
I can only assume that someone carried the corpse of the elf to the Mausoleum since it was gone once I returned to leave this letter and retire for the dark. I am not sure of the name of the Votch, but he was some priest. I am quite sure I can point out the names of those involved if needed. I think the integrity of the School was maintained, but in the future I would hope to make clear all terms of battle to everyone before any blood is spilled.
