Currently elections are every three months and there's some thoughts that this is perhaps too long as council activity tends to lag after about a month. Please vote for what you as players would find the most desirable and we will take it into consideration.
Elections
I voted two months. one month is great in that it allows new players to have a try at the council, but there would be non stop campaigns, etc.
Not to mention some people cannot play as often as others, so a single month is hardly a time to get some decent rp in your new job.
Two seems reasonable, it isn't too long, and not too short. It allows for a break between campaigns, and plenty of time for rp.
One month or shorter will cause too much campaign spam, it can get bad enough as it is; and considering the slow process behind the scenes we would barely get anything done. I'd have liked three months, but we can't deny that Councillors have a bad habit of, if not dying, then going A(WOL), and usually pretty soon. Even despite the changes Azzam made, the system doesn't support three months. Two months isn't terribly long time, but it's enough to get a few things done (potentially), and not long enough that all Councillors will necessarily die/disappear. I voted two.
A month isn't very long. Most metaplots tend to take at least a month, sometimes up to four or five and councilors are often the head authorities on these things.
Then again, two months might be too long. Three definately is. I like seeing active councilors working to promote their things.
Not three, maybe two, not one. Between two and one, maybe. Like every six or seven weeks or something.
Two months seems the best compromise between giving councilors time to pass laws and move plots along while not dragging out the quiet time at the end of the term when councilors are dead, awol or just plain burned out.
Two weeks!!!
Three is too long, back to 2 months, please.
I voted two months. That's a little longer than I've been on EfU, but it seems like enough time to maybe do something with the position, even if it is a little rushed.
It seems that two months will likely be the best fit. I'll leave this open for a day or two more of discussion.
What has been said above really sums it up-there is a bad tendency among Councilors to go AFK, making three months entirely too long a wait between elections. It also keeps new characters/players from getting involved as much in the Council, as the opportunity doesn't occur as often. Two months is the ideal length, in my opinion-it's long enough so that a committed character can accomplish stuff, but not so hideously long it just becomes mired in lackluster doldrums.

What SaRF said.
We might even see the really motivated councilors surviving and campaigning for re-election if they haven't accomplished their goals in one term.
I voted two months, and then the results made an obscene gesture at me.
LOL. Me too. :)
C'mon guys EFU isn't just elections.
Three months is good enough.
But if it will enhance the plots, fine more RP then =)
How much in game time passes during two months of RL. Just curious.
Two months.
Screw the council. Monarchy ftw!
I think it would be interesting if Sanctuary got a king. The problem is half of Sanctuary would actively be trying to kill such a person, so they would have to be the character to end all other characters in order to accomplish anything before dying.
Two months sounds like a pretty good interval, to me.
i think 3 months is fine - prehaps the councilers only need to push for more events/activity in that last month.
I voted 'two months' because everyone else did.
Oh, I guess its the most favorable option as well.
I think two months. Although like someone mentioned already, six weeks would be perhaps the best.
Six Weeks in my opinion. Also I think when councilors die a election should be held to take his or her place? This whole councilor term was nothing but councilors getting killed ROFL.
Every Council term is like that, Doc. I voted Two months, as it seems to be an easy in-between timespan.
If a Councilor's active they shouldn't have problems winning reelection. I'd say once a month.
