You must understand I would take your words at face value, if you truly are what you claim to be, furthermore, I grow even more suspicious of them as I read the information you offer and it conflicts which what I already know.

You sound repetant, and though it may be a ruse, I would sooner be hopeful and believe you are sincere than turn my back on a man who wishes to change.

I think meeting you, face to face, would allow me to determine if you can be trusted. It can be on neutral ground, both of us swearing safety to the other as long as it is returned. I am an honest and honorable man, I would not lie through my teeth like some of the snakes in this city. If you wish to take up my offer, contact me privately and we may work on an agreement. If you wish to keep your distance, then do so, and I will accept your offer yet weigh your words heavily.

Your offer has been most gracious. You put yourself close to harm by contacting me, and that shows something of your character.

But I do not know you from a simple letter and, unfortunately, have no reason to trust you. I seek to change that. I would very much like to trust you. To make you solid. I must ask you to take another step towards this end. We must meet, someplace where we are both safe, or possibly though emissaries. If you should fail to take this leap then you have proven your character and your liberation from hiding will be that much further away, if not destroyed outright. Please, do not waste such an opportunity as another may not come in a lifetime, given your racial circumstances.

Consider- I have absolutely no reason to have you killed or exiled or else, so if what you say and mean holds true, fear not. Hold on to your truth and stand resolute, stand solid.
