Letter to Joe Blogs at the Stand

Eleasis 17th Year 152 Joe Blogs, It saddens me to write to you regarding this subject. Varlam Nikitovich is dead since the 16th of Eleasis. As a friend of his, and mentioned in his will, please give to me or the caretaker of the Mausoleum any suggestions you might have regarding how Varlam would have liked his funeral ceremony. His will mentions that he wished to be cremated, his ashes to be passed to the spellguard, but not more than that.

Also, an amount of his gold has been bequeated to you. Please come by my office to retrieve it.

My condolences, Notary Clerk of Last Wills and Testaments Mr. Riddle Office of the Herald

A witness to his hopelessly lachrymal state, the ink-smears on the cheap parchment on which this letter is written are indicative of being soaked and wrought underwater. Fortunately, most of it still appears readable:

"How did it happen? My wife and I owe Mr Nikitovich so much. We're both having a lot of trouble digesting this news.

I won't get in the way of Mr Nikitovich becoming cremated. As for his funeral, I feel that it should involve something which reflects his love for people, for knowledge, and for the welfare of Sanctuary. He would probably want us all to know that, no matter what you have done with your life, there is always an opportunity to turn it around for the better.

What about a book box at his funeral? People who come are invited to donate whatever books they may have, and they can all be donated to the Library in memory of Mr Nikitovich. Later we can discuss using the money he gave us on something that everyone can benefit from.

I'm sure that Sanctuary will do him proud.

With much reverence, Joe Blogs"
