Regarding Slaad Fever

Fellow citizens,

It has come to the attentions of the various concerned priesthoods of the city that there is a looming new plague threat known as Slaad Fever or the Red Fever. Through the efforts of your adventuring population and the joint efforts of the churches of Ilmater and Chauntea, the Dark Lake has been searched high and low for a conclusive solution to this threat. With the aid of a resident enchantress near the North shore we have studied, learned, and practiced the following techniques in dealing with Slaadi and the Slaadi Fever:

-The disease is contracted like a poison from the mouths of the outsiders known as Slaadi. Avoid contact, especially from the Slaadi mouth.

-Despite its similarities to poison, the early incubation can in fact be treated with standard tonic solutions in the hands of a skilled healer. If bitten, do not risk your life nor the lives of others and drink a hearty dose of tonic.

-If given a great length of time to incubate (generally a few hours to over a day) in a living host the eggs will be birthed from the victim's torso and produce another slaadi, killing the victim.

-Slaadi can only be birthed from a living or very recently deceased corpse.

-Although they are born in this plane, Slaadi are still extraplanar and should be affected more severely by cold iron and magical weapons.

-Slaadi are extraordinarily quick and powerful and regenerate at an extremely rapid rate. Drawn out melees will not do them harm.

If confronted by a Slaadi, use extreme caution and seek Watch, adventurer, or mercenary aid. Be prepared to help save yourself and your fellow Sancturians.

Lastly, rest assured that this threat will be stopped before it can take a stronger stance here in the city. Ilmater be with us all.
