Firsly, I'd like to take the time to thank you for forwarding me a copy of your notes. It is greatly appreciated, they'll make an interesting read, I'm sure.

Secondly, I write with news on the task we discussed at the Estate. I have spoken with representatives and friends within both the Order of the Spellguard, and Sanctuary Watch and recieved a fair amount of assistance.

Agent Vendrask, an attractive young Agent, was kind enough to provide me with the following statement, in a letter I recieved earlier this dark:

Sir Donrick,

The Spellguard had seceded from the city because of the general incompetence of the Council to uphold the wishes of both the founders of the city, and the late Mayor Bhast. It did not appreciate the efforts of anyone outside of its own circle, and took for granted the efforts of all others. Therefore, our Order detached itself. Upon the acknowledgement of the Council, that it needed our Order, we reunified to better aid the city once more.

This should be sufficient for your purposes?

I have yet to recieve an exact date of the events described, but I am awaiting conformation currently, and should be able to update you in the near future.
