I am sorry, but when I see lvl 4 and 5 characters I saw made 2 days ago walking around in full plate, I get annoyed. Make them more expensive!
Full plate more expensive
It's expensive from NPCs, but from PCs that kill other PCs and sell them cheaply (800-1000) yes a level 4-5 can get 1k easily.
I'm pretty sure its by design that you can get a level 4-5 individual with a full plate. Just requires they take a few more risks. I've had characters at level 3 with full plates through pure instances of luck (Got my hands on a bow that sold pretty well) either way 2250-2500 gold is just fine and more expensive than it used to be.
It costs enough that I've never bought it before! :D
(just wait around and loot timely deaths, is more cost efficient. >_>)

Naga, you forget, your abilities at this sort of thing are somewhat superior to others. But still, you've got a point. I think they're already expensive enough as it is. Regardless of level, certain characters/players will be more adept at getting the funds than others. Raising the prices would probably be more of a hindrance to the level 3's and so that have difficulty getting plate than the ones who don't.
I am just thinking that it usually takes me a couple weeks before I could even afford full plate, I usually have to go through all sorts of BS and potion smacking before I can afford any. Then again, I haven't played a warrior in awhile.
Thomas, thats normally how it still is. some people just get lucky/ are super proficient at earning gold. I just tend to spend money on other things, like- fancy crafted breastplate/potions/loot/dyes/fun-items. Otherwise if you save it all you can make enough to dump everything into plate within 2-3 days.
Grind the delivery quests, and Andrew's Basement for phat gold rewardz.
I think this is just a matter of a few very enthusiastic players and server instability when it happens. Fullplate price is okay for now.
"Very enthusiatic".
wcsherry, such a troll master.
Really though we don't want it to take ages and ages to get fullplate. While it is true that Sanctuary is a grimy city of ex-slaves, we're playing in one of the most magical environments around, and part of that includes adventuring. While I do sort of miss the old days of Alpha where if your party found a set of half-plate on a DM quest, you could surely expect a lengthy argument over who got it, the truth of the matter is that it is just not fun to grind out quests forever to earn that plate.
Quite.
There's far more productive things to be doing, like roleplaying your characters and developing their stories. Do that enough and avoid grinding, and you'll likely get a nice, sexy /magical/ full plate to show for it. Or maybe not. I guess it depends...
You never know!
Roffle. Magical Fullplate.
That's as rare as like... a perma haste item.
Or perhaps you just haven't tried hard enough.
Someone once claimed to me that they discovered a suit of fullplate +1 with some kinda electric vulnerability on it, but right after they grabbed it, the server reset.
Bad fishing story, or one of the most inopportune server resets of all time? You be the judge.
Magical fullplate exists on EfU. That's all I'm gonna say...
Such memories.
wcsherry While I do sort of miss the old days of Alpha where if your party found a set of half-plate on a DM quest, you could surely expect a lengthy argument over who got itI've seen this recently!

Last year I spent eight months on this server grinding quests and I never saw anything decent. Then I relaxed (or snapped, take your pick) and decided to just have fun, and people around me started having fun, and soon enough we were all having a famous time, reveling in looty merriment.
On the other hand, DMs aren't always around to see you having fun. My alt is wearing some excellent armor (not full plate, but still) that he got on the first day of play. DMs aren't the only ones who hand out loot, you know. Just about anybody can be charmed.
Does'nt take weeks to get a full plate! Definatly not Thomas. Only takes two-three real life days. Mind you I do play for 10 hours a day minimuim.
I lie I'm not always ig for that time but I'm always at my computer screen!

People can get to level 5 in two days? Damn. Despite what my wife says I obviously need to spend more hours playing EFU.
I know that from my recent personal experience I would never be able to afford Full Plate from an NPC at level 5. I cried tears of joy when I was finally able to purchase a set of Half-Plate from a PC at level 5 (Although I did recently acquire a set of full plate in the wilds before becoming level 6...He was dead when I found him, ok.)
To the point. I think the high price of full plate is adequate.
