The problem with not taking your level immediately.

I had not hit the level up button yet, when I decided to get myself into a battle. The immediate thing I noticed is that you cannot target yourself via your portrait. Additionally, you can't hold your cursor over your portrait to see how many hit points you truly have. And while not combat oriented, there is nothing saying the name of the area you are in unless you move through a transition.

While two of these three problems were bad enough, once I arrived in the fugue I had ran into some more. The party I was with was kind enough to drag my sorry butt back to the Hold, and gathered enough gold to pay for my raise. Mind you...I still had a pending level while waiting in the fugue. Upon my raise I lost the standard XP, had 1hp, and the gear I was originally wearing....in the fugue. If it were not for DM Scotty, I'd still be stuck in the City of Judgement.

I don't know if anything can be done about the first set of problems, as it might just be the game engine itself. But perhaps the second situation can be fixed. Or at least see what may have caused it.

The first two issues are engine issues and really just the risk of sitting on a level like that. I mean, we can't take responsibility for things like that at all.

The third issue is certainly a bug, but I don't think it is related.

Frank died while sitting on level 8. He went to the fugue normally, and was raised in the Hold normally. So as Howland said, I don't think those issues are related.

Poor Frank! That sucks so harsh, man, my condolences. Curses, level 8!
