I've learned that some players don't like getting Tells for one reason or another. Perhaps it destroys immersion, leads to nasty OOC, whatever. But if we don't know a player dislikes Tells, then it's a bit uncomfortable when you send a Tell and they don't respond, or worse yet respond with a curt word or two and appear annoyed.
Maybe we sticky a post where players can post their player ID and/or character name to inform others of your preference?
This wouldn't be a hard and fast rule, but just a way to extend others a courtesy to maximize the enjoyment of those who dislike Tells.

That's a great idea! We should also make a "please type properly when RPing with me" sticky where everyone who hates bad typing can write his name, and before you play with him, you need to look the thread up to see if your typing is up to par.
More great ideas for sticky threads like this
* Please don't use afk
* Please don't powerquest
* Please don't do mean RP (mysoginy, IC racism, slurs)
* Please no foul language ICly when RPing with me
This will maximize the enjoyment of people who don't like those things.

We've got a tell-blocking command somewhere; I can't remember what it is, but I think you can block specific people OR everyone but a specific list of people. But I don't remember anything more than that at the moment. Feel free to look it up before I do!

I find the use of it pretty rude, but what have you:
Tell Filtering
There is an optional tell filtering system, to allow you to temporarily ignore all tells (except those from DMs). This can be used in circumstances where a flood of OOC tells would break immersion. To use this system, first activate it with the command below, and then turn "silence" mode on and off at will. When in "silence" mode, all tells except those from players on your permit-list, and DMs, will be ignored. You will get a message when a tell is ignored, and the player sending the tell will get a similar message. activate/deactivate -- Turn the system on and off.
Example: "/c tell_filter activate" will turn on the system.
Example: "/c tell_filter deactivate" will turn off the system.
Example: "/c tell_filter toggle active" will toggle whether or not the system is activated.
silence/unsilence -- Turn "silence mode" on and off.
Example: "/c tell_filter silence" will turn on silence mode.
Example: "/c tell_filter unsilence" will turn off silence mode.
Example: "/c tell_filter toggle silence" will toggle silence mode on and off.
permit/unpermit <playername> -- Configure your permit list.
Example: "/c tell_filter permit Arkov Bartelisk" will add Arkov Bartelisk to your permit list.
Example: "/c tell_filter unpermit Arkov Bartelisk" will remove Arkov Bartelisk from your permit list.

Are you volunteering? PM me your picture and MSN if you're in Europe.
Yes, you know if someone blocks you/you are blocked.

We do have the aforementioned tell filter, but I really doubt anyone will be offended if you say "Hey, sorry can't talk at the moment trying to concentrate on my roleplay! :-)"
