[A letter to the Council]

Councilor,

My previous candidates for the position have proven unsatisfactory, so I have decided to pursue stewardship of the Mausoleum personally as a representative of the church of Kelemvor. It is my intention to ensure that the dead are treated with respect and care and do all within my power to ensure that they do not suffer the predations of practitioners of the darkest Art. I will hold all of the necessary ceremonies to ensure that death remains an accepted fact and is not clouded in fear and superstition, that all men may approach with quiet dignity rather than mystified terror.

I ask that the following be considered carefully:

The church of Kelemvor will remain the stewards of the building until they are found to be sufficiently inept.

A staff of caretakers will be assembled to ensure that all work goes smoothly. The names of everyone who will work directly for the steward in matters relevant to the Mausoleum will be provided to the Council.

If a visitor to the Mausoleum is showing disrespect to the dead or is violating any of Sanctuary's laws, the steward and his caretakers reserve the right to remove him from the building and, if necessary, take him to the Watch House.

A shrine to Kelemvor, financed by the steward and his caretakers, will be placed in the Mausoleum. This is to ensure that the Judge looks down on our endeavors with favor and prohibits the dead from rising within the building.

I will speak with any of you who wish to discuss my proposal in the near future.
