Letter to the Watch

Good men and women of the Watch,

I am a bit concerned that my wishes to serve in your ranks will not be granted. Is there some reason for this that I am unaware? Having worked intimately with many of you including Privates Lothor, Sarkish, Rubyglow, Marcato and even Lieutenant Sunnellar when he first served as a private, it seems strange that my character is in question, or my honor not well known.

If you would please explain what else needs done, or if my service is for some reason not required, a response would be appreciated.

Sir Geoffrey Wellington Knight of the Greycloaks Tormtar of the Loyal Fury New Dunwarren

Sir Wellington,

Recommendations both for and against you have been filed; at this point, there is nothing else you can do except speak with the Sheriff in person and inquire as to whether he will be admitting you into the Watch ranks. If he has not yet decided, then I believe it best to simply abandon your efforts to join our ranks, as I doubt any decision in your favor would be forthcoming after such indecision.

-Lieutenant Sunellar

Lieutenant Sunellar,

I am quite disappointed at the contents of your letter, though I appreciate your prompt response. It pains me to learn that some within the Watch feel that I am a man of low character.

It is your opinion that I value most. As I would be likely be serving directly under you, I would hope that our prior experiences would speak strongly in my favor. Though we have had words, I know that my actions and valor have been witnessed and measured.

Therefore, I leave the decision to you. I will not trouble the good Sheriff if you do not have confidence in my ability to serve Sanctuary and its people.

Sir Geoffrey Wellington

Sir Wellington,

I would not have suggested you meet with the Sheriff if I did not wish you to.

-Lieutenant Sunellar
