[to Kayne Balesmaan at the Rock Bottom]
Kayne sits down to briefly read through the letters. After a moment's thought, he picks up a quill and pens a response.
Yrhaedan,
Excellent work so far. In addition to what we have so far, I would still appreciate information on the people assisting. Who are they, what are their names, and so on, as I had spoken of at our previous meeting.
Further, while the reports are good, they are a bit lacking in detail. Numbers and types of creatures so encountered, how difficult they were to overcome; names, descriptions of those who are responsible for all of the abominable things you combat, and so on. The circumstances of such encounters, also.
Thank you,
-Kayne-
[the messenger boy slinks to the Mausoleum, pulls one of the wings that creaks and yelps as a gust of dusty wind blows from within the looming structure, carrying whispers of ancient moans that are carved into the withered walls; it does not take long for a smooth hand of a hue of dried soil to appear, grasp the scroll and dissipate in the foreboding shadows]
[follows a dry and extensive account on the number of skeletons, zombies and mummies slain, the number of bones powdered, the dust stored, the number of cleansed skulls and buried severed limbs, herbs and salves used in embalming the dead child's corpse and description of the fighting techniques Joric Tannall and Alannes Aerys had been taught by the servant and used]
Kayne reads the pages through twice, then pens a reply with a pleased look on his face.
Truly well done, Yrhaeden. I have been burdened with duties of late, but should like to lend more aid to your strivings in person soon. Keep me informed of any further developments, and when we are able to meet, we should talk.
My thanks,
-Kayne-
Kayne counts the number of destroyed undead in the second report's details, ending somewhere in the eighties. He spends a good portion of the evening pacing and mumbling in thought.
