I was just informed in game that there are strict rules on multiclassing, from a DM, and that my character would be delevelled to when he took his single monk level (which was at level 2, aka he goes down to level 1.).
I just think that rules like this should be posted on the forums and along with the server rules, because I was quite.. dejected to learn that my character was essentially going to become a nobody after playing him for the time I have. Basically what I'm trying to say is that this has a large affect on what the player can and cannot do on the server, and so I think it should be included in the server rules because now I've really lost most of my interest in that character.

This is the link for monks and their rules for multiclassing.
Monks have more restrictions than other classes.
I remember my first character here on EFU, it was a gnome but the skin color was deemed too dark, and therefore looked like a Sverfneblin, so I had to forget about him.
Don't give up hope Evil Pig!

Also note that these aren't our specific rules, but are rules associated with The Forgotten Realms.

I just wished the multiclassing rules were tossed into the barrel, except the alignment ones. THose exp penalties are hardcore ass holes.

I also didn't say I would necessarily de-level you. Sometimes we bend the rules a bit if someone is new. I simply said that your build looked a little dodgy to me, and that we had monk multi-classing rules, which is the truth! But it's not the end of the world, many excellent players when they're new to a server start out with a dodgy build.
But yes, it's a good idea to check out the specific rules for each class on the forums. Paladins/monks have multiclass restrictions, and many classes have specific RP obligations (like, a cleric that pursues the deity's dogma, druids that follow their oaths, and so on).

I understand. I think it caught me offguard and I was a bit put off by it, but I'm not gonna just give up on the server from one little bump so don't worry. I like what I've seen here so far anyways... just proves that for all the reading I've been doing on the Underdark I hafta do more on the character rules.
