In order to control the flood of letters every day, could we divide the letter section into two? One would have letters to the Watch and Council (and other Town offices like Riddle's Wills), and rest of the letters would be on the normal letter section.

This way player correspondence to Council, Watch and Town Offices in general would not scroll down so quickly, and would have a better chance of a good reply.

The Council doesn't receive -that- many letters. Instead, I would divide the forums between DM Faction letters (for both NPC's and PC's) and "everything else".

A major problem I see on the letter's forum are people trying to get in touch with NPC's but the letters sink, and then people bump them so that the DM's see them. A major reason to write NPC's a letter rather than visit IG is because it's hard to find a DM to possess an NPC. Additionally, there is no record of past actions so the NPC is likely inconsistent - letters solve that problem.

NPC letters and PC letters seems like a fairly awesome idea to help the DM's.

I agree with separating letters intended for NPC's and those for PC's.

However, what about those that go to 'all' which means both pc's and npc's? I've seen lots of folk say "Letter to each councilor."

Perhaps a third "Group" subsection?

This would allow DM's to reply only in the NPC section, Players to replay to the PC section and who ever reaches the letter first in the 'Group" section.

This would all confusing for new players and old players alike. If anything is changed, make sure to keep it simple. And if we want to separate letter forums the Metafaction forums seem to serve that purpose pretty well. Separating it more may make things convoluted.

I would not want more than two forums, too many is not convenient, I agree. But I think town & watch (plus other city offices) could have their own forum active enough.
